RNC Officials: Ted Cruz RNC Speech was “Classless” (Teddy's self-inflicted wound still bleeding)

He started showing his true colors when it became obvious he wasn't going to win the nomination if the People had their say. He proved to be so vain and egotistical that he's probably still trying to figure out what's wrong with all those people who cheered him on to the stage (expecting him to man up and become a team player) and those who booed his sorry ass off the stage.

He was offered an olive branch that might have saved his career and he opted to fall on his own sword (trip on it is more apt).

He has no idea that much of his original base was becoming jaded from his antics and that he probably lost 90% of his supporters last night - the kind of folks who have brains and long memories.

Ted Cruz: RIP You POS

Ha! That’s nothing. I’d crawl over broken glass that was on FIRE!

What would you call a person who cannot even find himself a suit that fits.

I was already voting for Trump at that point as well. However, I was excited that both him and Cruz were doing well, and would have voted for either. Once he supported Black Lies Matter, he was dead to me.

Cruz is now officially the kooky politician in the attic, the new Ron Paul.

‘Classless’ was the same word I used last night. I know he might be stinging from the primaries, but this was a time to man up and he did not.

But no...you just weren’t bright enough to grasp the simplicity of this deal.

SMH. And if he did not realize that once he gets back to the senate, his "colleagues" will resume stabbing him in the back.

Oh, I read that Trump was aware of the speech and let it go anyway. He said “bygones” and bad publicity was still publicity.

Compare that to Pat Buchanan's speech in 1992; it includes a gracious acceptance of defeat and support of the rival for president.

One year ago -- You know, one year ago, my friends -- One year ago I could not have dreamt I would be here tonight. I was just one of many panelists on what President Bush calls "those crazy Sunday talk shows." But I disagreed with the President and so we challenged the President in the Republican primaries, and we fought as best we could. From February to June, President Bush won 33 of those primaries. I can't recall exactly how many we won. I'll get you the figure tomorrow.

But tonight I do want to speak from the heart to the 3 million people who voted for Pat Buchanan for President. I will never -- I will never -- I will never forget you, or the great honor you have done me. But I do believe -- I do believe deep in my heart that the right place for us to be now, in this presidential campaign, is right beside George Bush. This Party -- This Party is my home. This Party is our home and we've got to come home to it. And don't let anyone tell you any different.

[source]

Buchanan may not be loved by all here, and the speech was maligned as the 'Culture War' speech, but it looks quite prescient from our current position. I think the complaints came not from delegates or Republican rank-and-file, but from the same pundit class that now hates Donald Trump.

The speech also touches on many themes that Trump covers (in his own distinct style):

There were those workers at the James River Paper Mill, in Northern New Hampshire in a town called Groveton -- tough, hearty men. None of them would say a word to me as I came down the line, shaking their hands one by one. They were under a threat of losing their jobs at Christmas. And as I moved down the line, one tough fellow about my age just looked up and said to me, "Save our jobs."

Then there was the legal secretary that I met at the Manchester airport on Christmas Day who came running up to me and said, "Mr. Buchanan, I'm going to vote for you." And then she broke down weeping, and she said, "I've lost my job; I don't have any money, and they're going to take away my little girl. What am I going to do?"

My friends, these people are our people. They don't read Adam Smith or Edmund Burke, but they come from the same schoolyards and the same playgrounds and towns as we came from. They share our beliefs and our convictions, our hopes and our dreams. These are the conservatives of the heart. They are our people. And we need to reconnect with them. We need to let them know we know how bad they're hurting. They don't expect miracles of us, but they need to know we care.

Trump also appeals to these "conservatives of the heart," and does so in a way that Cruz does not.

“Classless” (Teddy’s self-inflicted wound still bleeding).....

More than likely it’s FATAL. He had potential but was/is too full of himself and that has caused his eventual end although delayed for a while.

Other threads’ comments claim that the Trump campaign approved Cruz’s speech. I betcha knowing what Cruz was going to say/not say, Trump timed his own entrance to precisely coincide with the final Cruz self-immolation. Man is a special kind of genius.

I had lost all respect for several repubs, Kascish, Romney, Jeb, and in a surprise Geo. Bush for their bashing the nominee, Trump.
These idiots would rather Hillary get it than Trump.
What are they thinking!! She gets in and there’ll never be another repub president. She will stack the voting rolls with felons, illegals , welfare queens, and the cemeteries if need be.
But Cruz, Cruz!
I voted for Cruz in the primary but that will be the last time I ever do.

Cruzicide is a new lexicon/keyword to be used to describe Cruz and his dwindling cult members destroy themselves with their words/actions!

Macycide is an example of how a corporation/business can destroy themselves with their NeverTrump actions.
