Cruz gets booed after he declines to endorse Trump
Politico ^ | July 20, 2016 | Nolan D. McCaskill

The Texas senator not only failed to endorse Trump at any point during his 23-minute remarks, he also encouraged Republicans to “vote their conscience...”

When it became clear that Cruz was not was not offering a direct endorsement, the crowd broke out in boos that continued for the balance of Cruz's remarks, shouting "We want Trump" as Cruz wrapped his speech.

And that wasn't the only interruption. Toward the end of Cruz's remarks, Trump himself made a previously unannounced entrance into the arena, prompting cheers and pulling the attention away from the main stage.

Republicans were livid with Cruz for declining to endorse. Mississippi state Rep. Becky Currie blasted Cruz, calling him “stupid” after proving that he “apparently only thinks of himself.”

“If he came here to really unite the party, he would have stood behind the candidate the people chose," Currie, who shouted “Trump” with others in the crowd as Cruz finished his speech...

if the GOP-e/Dementocrats managed to assassinate Trump),

##################################

A very real possibility.

Trump should wear a bullet proof vest during his presidency. I know they are cumbersome, having worn one myself but it’s better than being dead. There are some very crazy democrats out there that want Trump dead and Hillary, insane Hillary, is the leader of all of them.

They don't call him Lying Ted for nothing.

Trump had him figured all along.

From telling Iowa delegates that Carson had dropped out to taking part in fixed caucuses in Utah and other states Ted Cruz has shown his true colors.

Trump showed he was the bigger man. He allowed Cruz to speak during prime time on Wednesday night and Cruz stabbed him in the back.

One by one Trump exposes these people. From Bill Kristol to Romney to JEB! to Jonah Goldberg and George Will they have shown what they truly are.

I hope Trump wins by a landslide.

Ted Cruz single handedly destroyed his entire political future tonight. He showed the Republican Party and the nation at large that the only person and thing Ted Cruz cares about is: Ted Cruz!

For all of his pontificating on "the constitution", and "the rule of law". By totally ignoring Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, and by utterly failing to endorse him, his speech demonstrated one thing: Ted Cruz is a LIAR who does not keep his word!

Lying Ted, singned the agreement and promised IN WRITING to support the Republican Party's nominee, then when the time actually came to do so, Lying Ted BROKE HIS PROMISE AND HIS WORD! Donald Trump has the innate ability to size a man up and discern his character and "the metal of the man". Mr. Trump succinctly characterized his analysis of the man Ted Cruz with a two-word title which will stick to and haunt Ted Cruz for the rest of his short lived political career and life:

"Lying Ted"

Tonight, Ted Cruz's "speech", and performance affirmed Mr. Trump's apt title himself for America and all the world to see. For all his talk, he is in reality a very small, self-centered man who doesn't care about America, Americans, the constitution, or the "rule of law"; the only thing Ted Cruz cares about is HIMSELF, HIS POLITICAL AMBITIONS AND ASPIRATIONS.

My family bad I will NEVER SUPPORT "Lying Ted", even if he were to become the Republican presidential candidate in 2020.

We just got a fundraising email from Cruz:

"It was an honor to speak to the delegates at the Republican National Convention.

As our cause goes forward, I want to remind you about the stakes.

Americans are furious—rightly so—at a political establishment that cynically breaks its promises and ignores the will of the people.

But there is is a better vision for our future: a return to freedom.

If we choose freedom, our future will be brighter.

Freedom will bring back jobs and raise wages.

Freedom will lift people out of dependency and to the dignity of work.

47 years ago today, America put a man on the moon. That’s the power of freedom.

Our party was founded to defeat slavery.

Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

We passed the Civil Rights Act, and fought to eliminate Jim Crow laws.

Those were fights for freedom, and so is this."

Then he asks for money.

He should wear a kevlar helmet, too.

I understand that he wants to dress how you, I, or ofher conservatives may dress, and I understand he is trying to stick with his brand, but I think showing up to the convention in full body armor is necessary for his survival. Additionally, it should help spread the message to low-information voters that we are constantly under siege from evildoers, such as Muslims.

“There are some very crazy democrats out there that want Trump dead...”

Plenty of the upper echelon of the Uniparty want him dead too. I wonder what the procedure is if a nominee is assassinated before the election? Does the chosen VP take his place for president? OR... Does the runner up in the primary take his place? Or, does the Uniparty pull someone out of a hat?

When I was in high school, I played basketball against Cruz’s Second Baptist and he was not well liked by my team or his own, but I remembered him.

As he moved up in Texas politics, I second guessed myself, but could see why he was hated by his peers in the Senate.

I voted for him in his Senate race and at the start of his run for president.

Now I know, everyone else was right. Cruz is an arrogant jerk.

What an absolutely, utterly clueless jerk. The descriptions ""Lyin Ted provides in the contents of his letter refer to himself and fit him to a tee! Sadly he is so blinded by his political ambitions he can't see it.

"Lyin Ted's" political future is over; amazingly he killed UT himself!

I’m saddened to have to admit I am one of those who was taken in. A year ago I was psyched that Cruz would be the nominee who’d wipe the floor up with Hillary. He seemed even better as the debates started where he wouldn’t be baited by the msm into criticizing the things Trump was saying. I saw several YouTube clips where he’d invite hecklers to stand next to him and try to point out the error of their thinking. My favorite was where he got Medea Benjamin in her little pink outfit to admit he had some valid points. As Trump kept winning primaries, I naturally presumed they’d make a stunning, one-two punch as President and Vice President. What the hell happened?

If Cruz had only not started sabotaging Trump when it became apparent he (Cruz) wouldn’t get the nomination, I think he still could have been an important asset to a Trump administration, perhaps even one of the next Supreme Court justices. It seems like he turned on a dime the night he came out with that B.S. over Trump’s cancelled rally in Chicago. Even if he couldn’t win the nomination himself, he didn’t need to be so bitter and such a poor loser. Obviously I’m not a great judge of character - it just seems so unbelievable that he would turn out to be so thick and graceless.

I’m glad that Trump got the nomination and I’m excited about him becoming the next President of the United States. I’ll just wonder for the rest of my life how a guy I considered so brilliant and bound for glory ended up so quickly in the gutter by his own doing. Very depressing...

I thought it was ironic how Cruz in his speech said something like the people have to rally against a government that ignores promises and the will of the people. Uh, Ted...aren’t you ignoring promises and the will of the people? I started out favoring Cruz and Carson, then wavered between Cruz and Trump before settling on Trump. Cruz is dead to me. He’s just another politician out for himself. To not come out and at least say that we’ve got to do everything in our power to defeat Hillary shows what a classless POS he is.

Sure, but she’s been the biggest backer of the #NEVERTRUMP movement since the start. She’s just encouraging them to vote for Johnson.

Trump’s a genius, he already tweeted that he saw the speech and told Ted Cruz he was fine with it..he knew that Cruz would hang himself LIVE on national TV and he did..actually.

Trump is a genius. By letting Cruz speak he showed that he is confident enough to not feel threatened by someone who is not a supporter. My guess is that the written words did not seem as bad without Ted's snarky delivery. But Ted has unintentionally helped a lot of his supporters move on. Almost all the posts I have seen, even on forums other than this one from people who said that they are strong Cruz supporters have said that they were very disappointed.

Cruz misread the situation. He thought his campaign had packed the convention with Cruz sleepers from states that Trump won. Cruz thought that the people in the audience still loved him more than Trump. What he did not realize is that since Trump won the primary people have

During the contest between Trump and Cruz I wrote here many times that Cruz shared many of the characteristics of the alcoholics that I grew up with. His speech tonight was more evidence to me that he is an alcoholic. Alcoholics tend to maintain delusional images of themselves regardless of evidence to the contrary.
