After a century of suppressing radical Muslems it’s a very really possibility that Erdogan’s is struggling to be seen as radical enough for the blood thirsty zealots.

First part is true the Turkish leaders have been trying to keep the fundamentalists out of power. But it could be that Erdogan is trying to change that policy especially beneath the surface and the coup was an attempt to stop him from bringing fundamentalists to power.

The EU has given the Erdogan government several billion dollars to ‘take care of’ those ‘migrants’ instead of sending them onto Europe.

The EU are tied up with Erodgan and have a lot to lose if he doesn’t keep his end of ‘the bargain’.

It certainly seems possible that Erdogon let this happen or encouraged it to happen. Heard the mistake made by the coup folks was they ceased the radio and TV stations, but did not think to capture the Twitter/Facebook type installations. Suggests this might have been the older officers who remember when Turkey was a secular state as promoted by Kemel Attaturk. Young officers might have considered the more modern means of communicating as worth seizing. Well, I guess he won’t get Turkey into European Union now. Heard that the guy in the US he is blaming has been working for many years to promote a more modern form of Islam rather than the Sharia type.

It wasn’t a botched coup, it was a false flag from Erdogan.

Notice how most of the military’s targets ended up being people who could have challenged Erdogan? Notice how Erdogan was never at risk of being killed by friendly fire throughout the whole ordeal, being safely out of the country?

I’ve been following this way too obsessively. IMHO some of Erdog’s loyal higher up military presented to other military as a real coup, some got on board, and many conscripts were just fololwing orders. Of course it instantly failed, and Erdog immediately trotted huge gigantic enemy lists, drew all power to himself, and now tens of thousands are detailed, fired, stopped from leaing the county, arrested and there is torture going on, and fake trials with no lawyers allowed.

He issued orders that the loyal citizens (ie jihadist thugs) will be given weapnons to “keep order” - ie - kill “disloyal” citizens. I’ve seen pronouncements that is legal to rape the wives and daughters of “coup follower” military. All civil liberties are gone. ALl teachers fired, all schools closed, only Islamic schools allowed now. Journalists, lawyers, deans of all colleges and on and on - fired or in detention, if a whiff of disloyalty.

Killing fields dead ahead.

If no countries stand up against this, the blood will be on everyone’s hands.

Erdog recently got piised off at Germany for saying that the Armenian massacre was a bad thing, and Erdog said it was a good thing, done for national security, and the “gulenists” and disloyal coup supporters etc (ie anyone who is not his follower) are worse than Armenians.

He plans to kill millions, obviously.

He also plans to get even for “The Battle of Vienna”. And Muslims in countries, like France and Britain, will be loyal to Erdogan over their host nations.

My own suspicion is that he made himself look vulnerable, and laced the underground opposition with provocateurs, so that a real coup would occur, but he would know their every move and simply round them up.

What the hell was it ever doing in NATO. Russia is no picnic, but Turkey is thrice the threat to the West that Russia is.

You know John Kerry and Obama are pissed that they failed in Egypt to keep the Islamists in control.

I believe CS Lewis was telling us something. In the last books of Narnia he introduced a race called the Calormeans (Horse and His Boy). They were definitely of Arab stock, cruel, and deceptive. In the last book their God Tash comes alive and wreaks havoc on Narnia. Tash is depicted pretty much like the devil.

Good point. He immediately came out with that list of people involved in the coup, as though he were itching for an excuse to get rid of them.

It’s a common tactic in America, too: a bunch of liberals pretend to endorse Donald Trump, and then say something ridiculous to attempt to tar all Trump supporters with the same brush. The liberals have failed to make inroads the same way Erdogan has in Turkey because they ultimately do not understand how conservatives think, so their impressions of conservatives simply come off as amateur caricatures.

But one thing we should always be aware of is that liberals are constantly improving their means of subversion and destruction. It took the Muslims thousands of years to do so, but they have managed to turn a nation founded on the anti-Islamic ideals of Ataturk into just another Muslim trash heap.

Paranthetically, Kemal Ataturk’s modernization movement did not occur thousands of years ago, but the development of unyielding, calcified, reactionary narrow-mindedness has taken 1,400 years, and that is what has ultimately toppled poor Ataturk’s hard-won victory like a house of cards.
