You're fired! Trump to purge federal government of Obama henchmen with aid of new law making it easier to ax civil servants

Chris Christie, the New Jersey governor heading shadow transition team, reveal plan for law change to clear out Obama's appointees 'As you know from his other career, Donald like to fire people,' Christie said in closed-door meeting with donors Campaign is drawing up list of federal employees it wants fired if Trump wins the election Christie said law change is needed because Obama could make his appointees proper civil servants who are more difficult to ax Move would be an attempt by Democrats to embed liberal ideas and practices on government after party is booted from White House If he wins the presidency, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would seek to purge the federal government of officials appointed by Democratic President Barack Obama and could ask Congress to pass legislation making it easier to fire public workers, Trump ally, Chris Christie, said on Tuesday.

Christie, who is governor of New Jersey and leads Trump's White House transition team, said the campaign was drawing up a list of federal government employees to fire if Trump defeats Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 presidential election.

'As you know from his other career, Donald likes to fire people,' Christie told a closed-door meeting with dozens of donors at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, according to an audio recording obtained by Reuters and two participants in the meeting.

Excuse me, but congress & the public sector service union/s & their contracts will have something to say about that. Even though I would love to see a purge of the useless gov’t employees!

If you all recall, up to 25% of fed employees said they would quit if he was elected.

I don’t know. Reagan fired all the air traffic controllers at once when they went on strike.

Stick them in Whoopi’s and Cher’s luggage and send them to Canada.

Threatening to axe federal employees before he’s elected is not a good idea. Feds are a massive reservoir of Democratic voters. Why unnecessarily push them towards Hillary?

If you can’t fire them, it would still be better to just send them to a rubber room with no phones or net and blocked cell serves. Without computer porn they would finally give up.

Everyone knows this is necessary but why in God's name advertise it at this stage? The MSM and RAT's (dedundant, I know) will demagogue the hell out of this with talk of enemy lists, etc....

If true, should have perhaps kept this close to the vest for now. Tough call though, it may sway some voters. I fear that it will only motivate our enemies even more.

1- I’ll never understand why Bush didn’t do this.

2- It is a vital thing to do, but idiotic to advertise at this stage.

+1 to both...

Half to two-thirds for most state agencies could go.

I have long thought that the Civil Service Act that eliminated the spoils system was a mistake. It established a permanent army of bureaucrats as a self-interested organ of government. It is that extra-constitutional organ that is the great oppressor of the people and control of which is the valuable prize that drives the rent-seeking vampires of the business world to spend tens of billions on lobbying, bribes and regulatory capture.

Yes. All those undecided federal government employees.

The unionized ones.

They haven’t been told how to vote.

My uncle was a federal government employee. He’s very conservative. He’s been retired from the federal government for years. Got out because of affirmative action. They screwed him.

Still votes Democrat.
