It was the the party that Donald Trump was branded too uncool to be invited to be to even at his own political convention.
About two thousand powerful Ohio Republicans gathered at Cleveland's storied Rock and Roll Hall of fame and delivered the ultimate snub to the man widely seen as persona non grata.
The most powerful Republican in the state, Governor John Kasich, threw the bash for a group he called 'friends': fellow party elder statesman, delegates, party workers and the future stars of the Grand Old Party.
One senior Republican said there was an obvious reason why Trump wasn't at the Kasich party, which was less than a mile from the convention venue.
'His family doesn't like Trump and his wife in particular, and John is very stubborn,' said one longtime Republican who knows Kasich well.

Kasick's irrational behavior is 180 degress from everything Cleveland planners have done to connect those who live here with having connection to those here for the convention.
I don't know that folks are going to be in a forgiving mood.
And the Rock Hall with all of its private parties for special interests?....that isn't what the history of rock music is supposed to be all about. They're presentation of rock has become a tool for the elitists who use music as part of their strategy to control the masses.
JMHO
“John is very stubborn”
Stubborn doesn’t work very well in politics, unless you’re Obama and have the media on your side. Kasich’s way too white and way too square to pull it off. The articles/segments coming out aren’t even about him, they’re about Trump being “dissed” by the host governor.
The corporate liberals having a pity party.
They’ve always hated the base.
He’s obviously joined-at-the-hip with GOPe and needs to go.
Yep, and it’s going over so well with the public. Just go to his facebook page to see the reaction.
For those who don’t facebook, he’s getting roasted, 99.9% of the comments are hugely negative and most of them refer to his “pledge” to support the nominee, the fact that he’s the host state and it’s unseemly, and it’s obvious he’s not a man of his word. Lots of “i used to like you” and “I voted for you but no more”.
K-sick is not a country first kinda guy. I dont think he is a ‘friends’ first kinda guy but does play one on TV.
Didn’t he take “The Pledge” to support the eventual nominee earlier in this year?
Did my tax money pay for this?
Recall!
[Attendees of Kasich’s celebratory party blasted Trump for his ‘amateur’ campaign]
I would not be surprised if KASICH became HILLARY’S running mate. He is delusional.
Even when the convention is that of the other party, the governor of the state will show up and give a perfunctory speech welcoming the delegates, extending them his state’s hospitality and thanking them for coming to his or her wonderful state. This simpleton doesn’t even do that - so much for his “pledge”, so much for promoting his state, so much for any future political career he will have outside of Ohio, unless Hillary picks him as her running mate.
Was Boehner there?
Good catch.
Kasich is a liar and political tranny.
Trump should offer him the Postmaster General job.

How do you get food into your body?
I’m not a Kasich fan, but attacking him for eating is just dumb.
Kasich grew up learning a different rule. His word is *not* his bond.
“Governor John Kasich, threw the bash for a group he called ‘friends’.”
Was Gary Condit on the guest list?
Never Kasich.

I’ll attack him for eating like a raised-in-a-barn slob. You don’t like it - tough.
Exactly! Just future losers.
Kasich and the other Republican cry baby elites could have taken the high road but instead they opted for the ditch.
