You might be right. He tied himself at the hip with another mentally ill person (Glenn Beck) which is one of the most inexplicable things I've ever seen in national politics. Evidently Beck channeled his father and fed the notion that Ted was the "anointed one" chosen by God himself to assume the presidency. The swearing in ceremony that Cruz allowed Beck to perform for him was just plain weird and creepy.
We really did dodge a bullet by having Trump run this year because I think Cruz would have beaten Jeb Bush for the nomination if not for Trump.
