Cleveland (CNN)Former President George W. Bush fretted to a group of former aides and advisers in April that he was worried he could be the "last Republican president."
The 43rd president's remark, at a gathering in Dallas of his administration's staffers, reflected a dim view of the party's prospects at a time when the primary contest was realistically down to Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

If he would be indeed the last Republican president, it is because of his own faults: disastrous and futile foreign wars, skyrocketing debt and the financial debacle.

Instead of supporting Mr. TRUMP, the REPUBLICAN PARTY’S NOMINEE, he would rather side with his looney little cry-baby brother and the NAFARIOUS Clinton’s who USED HIM, and his influence to rase and then steal/swindle over 100 MILLION DOLLARS in donations which was supposed to go to the starving orphans of Hati after the devastating earth quake, but ended up in their and FOB’s pockets! Shame on GWB!

So W is near silent for 8 years on political matters and only comes out to take a swipe at Mr. Trump. It’s republicans like him that led to Mr. Trump in the first place.
Hey now he signed the bill to build the fence that danged Senate defunded it after the election, poor George couldn't hep it.
So private remarks President Bush supposedly made more than 3 months ago the media decides to make a headline - and just happens to be during the convention. A coincidence, I’m sure.
Bush will be the last GOPe president as Trump will begin purging the establishment once he takes office.
