Trump Converting Democrats, Poll Shows
Newsmax ^ | 17 July | John Gizzi

Donald Trump may be winning converts from an unlikely source — Democrats — a new unpublished poll shows.

What's more, according to the poll, Trump is tied with Hillary — and in fact, the Republican candidate is within striking distance in several historically Democratic states.

Sources I interviewed said the poll was conducted by the Harper Polling Firm for the U.S. Senate campaign of GOP State Rep. Dan Carter.

The as-yet published poll shows Trump tied with Clinton — each with 43 percent — in heavily Democratic Connecticut.

“What was Pence necessary for again ?”

1. The Electoral Case. Rustbelt states - Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin.

2. The conservative wing of the Party. Pence is more comforting to movement conservatives than the Country Club Republicans of the GOP-e. He led the Republican Study Group in the House, a forerunner of the Tea Party Caucus. Some years he had a perfect ACU rating. Pence has bona fides with Evangelicals as a sincere Christian as well.

3. Governing. Pence has particularly good personal relationships with current legislators. He is widely liked and respected - a happy warrior who did not alienate opponents. GOP-e legislators feel comfortable talking to him, as do many Democrat legislators. His (real) personality is warm, not abrasive, and sincere. He has built up credibility and trust with many members. He is an Eagle Scout from the MidWest.

4. Messaging. Pence was a talk radio host, and can articulate conservative ideas, and express Trump’s positions within the bounds of polite, conventional political restraints - and quickly reframe potential gaffes. He has been called a great communicator.

5. The performance case. By economic measures, Pence was the most successful Governor over the last five years. Balanced the budget while cutting taxes every year. Made the biggest percentage improvement in unemployment in the nation.

You have to pick someone. Pence is a quality pick - talented, and with an excellent track record.

Has the word gone out to the BLM and assorted anarchists to dial it way back?

I can't tell. Certainly it ought to, because the internal polls have to be telling these guys that it's killing them. Mind you, they don't give a crap about dead cops except insofar as it's "bad optics" but that it is, and it wouldn't surprise me too much to see the cooler heads (if there are any) telling the hotheads to hit the mute button.

The problem is that you can tell them that but let's face it, the guys 0bama and Jarrett and BLM are trying to control are having a jolly time hating and raising hell, and they aren't the most disciplined troops in the world, to put it mildly. Soros can cut them off but he's only paying the professional agitators. It isn't in their hands anymore. Can they influence the media to dial it down? Maybe, but best of luck with that: "if it bleeds, it leads."

It may be too late in any case - the convention starts tomorrow. Batten down the hatches!

Every Muslim terrorist attacks makes his comments on dealing with Islam and terrorism more reasonable.
Every Black Lives Matter riot and killing makes him look like the only safe candidate as the law and order candidate.

Keep in mind this is an internal poll for a GOP candidate. To be taken very much with a grain of salt.

While I wouldn’t be shocked for Connecticut to be on the fringe of being competitive, I would be shocked if Trump were tied there.

What else can the sane Dems do? The party has been dragged so far to the left there is nothing rational to even run on. Increasing taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood doesn’t have all that much appeal to normal people who worry about things like jobs, terrorism and cops being gunned down in the street.

JFK would be called a right winger by today’s dims.

It wouldn’t be surprising to find out that white democrats are finally waking up to the fact that the democrat party despises them, and works against their interests at every turn.

It won't be surprising to me to see Black and Hispanic Democrats wake up to these facts as well.

This country has a clear choice to make, and I think the more that voters thoughtfully consider this choice, the more it benefits Donald Trump...

Vote Trump!

Getting the GOPe vote. I don't have a problem with the pick even though Pence is rather boring and establishment. I suppose he does have to make peace with it if he is going to get votes in Congress. I hope we will start voting these people out of office so we aren't forced into deals like this anymore.

Reagan had to do the same thing. The hopeful difference is that there won't be a Pence dynasty like the Bush one.

“Trump will cross over and win democats in VERY large numbers... Republicans finally have a candidate that will play to the blue collar worker... Trump is heading for a landslide win.”

it’s also not helping the Dems that they have one of the most repugnant candidates in history, running the most insular campaign in history. Crooked Hillary hasn’t faced the press in seven months.

BTW, I think the Presidential debates are going to be the most popcorn-intensive debates since TV was invented, assuming Crooked Hillary doesn’t simply back out.

Union members on Staten Island will vote dem at the local level and even state maybe, but will mostly go for the republican at he presidential level.

Not by much though.

Police and firemen he’ll get. Teachers he won’t. Gov’t workers, of course not. At any level.

He will get a LOT of white non union workers or union tradesmen.

As for the liberals in the offices, they breathre fire in Manhattan when they talk about Trump. They’re a lost cause as is NY.

But NJ is in play!!! that’s great!!
