Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I find it amazing how many receptions and dinners can go on for hours and hours with no loss of enjoyment. Dinners with course after course and wine after wine with nobody getting tipsy are a marvel.
The “old stones” fascinate me. So many chateaux and each so different with its tales of wartime, some going back to the middle ages.
I was born in WV and lived mostly in CA. Been in 49 states and 30 o so countries. In Cal if your home or building is 90 years old they conifer it “historical.” We have houses in Oceanside with plaques on the front “built in 1922.” In Europe they laugh if you consider 90 years “historical.”
