I think you are correct.
At the beginning, I could have supported Cruz. His professed values and mine mesh up very nicely. However, I leaned towards Trump, because he has proven skills that are very important for the presidency, and skills outweigh ideology. Still, I would not have been upset by a Cruz candidate.
Over the course of the campaign, I got to see better who Cruz is. He is not at all the person I originally thought. As it turns out, he is just a sleazy power-hungry lawyer. His behavior in refusing to accept the outcome of the primaries and in the schemes to steal the nomination from the rightful winner shows me that he would be a horrible choice for president, that the only difference between him and Obama is the party affiliation.
That, and Cruz didn't say that the sound of the Muslim call to prayer was the most beautiful sound on earth...and I don't *think* he has a half-brother in Kenya subsisting on a reported $20 / month. /rim-shot>
