Not so fast: Defeated anti-Trump delegates vow trouble during the convention
Washington Post ^ | July 15, 2016 | Ed O'Keefe

The Never Trump agitators have been defeated, but they say they’re not going away.

Republicans who failed to change party rules here this week and stop Donald Trump from winning the party’s presidential nomination are threatening to cause chaos on the floor of the national convention next week. Bruised by the way party leaders handled debate on a series of proposed rule changes, leaders of anti-Trump groups vowed Friday to find ways to draw at least some political blood when the party meeting begins Monday.

The options are limited, and attempts to cause trouble at political conventions are usually quickly thwarted. But anti-Trump activists who spent weeks trying to play within the party structure now say they will do what Trump hates the most — find a way to embarrass him.

“If they thought they were going to have the nice, unified kumbaya show, they just completely guaranteed they’re not going to have it,” said Kendal Unruh, a GOP delegate from Colorado who led an anti-Trump group.

These people will be quietly de-credentialed and never enter the building, or possibly be removed from the floor of the hall.

What was accomplished by the Rules Committee in stepping on this disruptive faction, is that we ourselves are convinced that they are done. This vote-down was a smack down to these fools.

I needed to see it, and the nevertrumps needed to feel it. They are done.

I believe that Pence supported Cruz for President, and TPP. Squishy on homosexuals. Said Trump was wrong to want to temporarily suspend Muslims entering USA.

Not thrilled with Pence.

I see it this way. Pence will not be a “yes” man and will be able to present those opposing views to Trump ..FROM an actual opposing view, this can only help him.

I’ve seen a pic of this Unruh creature. I believe she’s a liberal infiltrator because she has that certain “liberal look”.

Like this one?

They are infiltrators. Democrat lawyers began registering as republicans in heavily republican districts about 10-15 years ago to try and soften the GOP underbelly in the heartland.

In this county, the Board of Elections is run almost completely by black Democrats. However, when they learned that teams consisting of the same number of Democrats and Republicans must be present for many tasks, such as taking ballots to nursing home shut-ins and recounting contested elections (for which they can be paid around $300 a day), suddenly there were a whole bunch of changed registrations — to Republican.

I watched the Hannity interview with Mike Pence and was very impressed with how Pence presented himself. Sundance has the video posted for those who would like to know more about Pense. The snarky remarks by Kelly before the Hannity show makes me want to request Roger Ailes to round up the anti Trumpers in his employ and hold an Attitude Adjustment session. Dana Perino is in a permanent sulky, petulant mode, Kelly is delibertly trying to undermine Trump and his campaign, and an assortment of others. FOX is teetering and Ailes need to straighten his people out before they lose all relevance.

unlike Cruz, Reagan ran a clean campaign, didn’t run his rallies like religious tent revivals, and did not preach to the crowds about the necessity to “raise up and energize the Body of Christ” like Elmer Gantry.

And he wasn't married to a One-World Soros-puppet careerist, either.

Don’t think so. Most of the stuff I hear and read about dUmping Trump is emotionally driven sour grapes. I don’t know what Trump will do but he articulates the issues that need to be addressed and his stated positions are closer to my own positions than anyone else. Pence was a poor choice. He is weak sauce in a real fight. And make no mistake if Trump is elected we are in for a real fight if he tries to restore the Constitutional rule of law. He will not be able to do so using Constitutional means. Why, because we are in a Revolutionary War prosecuted by the left and they own almost all the positions of power. Especially the federal courts. Thanks McCain. Gary Johnson is a non starter due to his position for open borders. So looks like Trump to me. Or the country becomes dictatorial socialist/marxist. I do not see any other paths.

Thank you for those VERY interesting observations. I would like to see that interview; I’ll plan to visit The Treehouse later today.

Kelly just hates Trump. I think that makes for bad tv, but I guess her ratings are okay. If, as we all hope, Trump wins in Nov, her comeuppance will likely be no interviews with the President, ever. :)

“Defeated anti-Trump delegates”

Are die-hard Cruz-bots.

If Cruz doesn't get a hold of himself and stop his fanaticism, he is going to end up a cult-running nutcase like Lyndon LaRouche, who has run for President more times than any one else in American history:

LaRouche's charismatic authority within [his] movement is grounded on members' belief that he possesses a unique level of insight and expertise. He identifies an emotionally charged issue, conducts in-depth research into it, then proposes a simplistic solution, usually involving restructuring of the economy or national security apparatus. He and the membership portray anyone opposing him as immoral and part of the conspiracy.

The group is known for its caustic attacks on people it opposes and former members. In the past it has justified what it refers to as "psywar techniques" as necessary to shake people up; Johnson in 1983 quoted a LaRouche associate: "We're not very nice, so we're hated. Why be nice? It's a cruel world. We're in a war and the human race is up for grabs." Charles Tate, a former long-term LaRouche associate, told The Washington Post in 1987 that members see themselves as not subject to the ordinary laws of society: "They feel that the continued existence of the human race is totally dependent on what they do in the organization, that nobody would be here without LaRouche. They feel justified in a peculiar way doing anything whatsoever."

“They are not just reporting a fight they are agitating for it.”

That’s very possible, but if these kinds of shenanigans are going on, I want to know about it. I’m a firm believer in the disinfectant qualities of sunlight.

Spot on enumerated.

Don't waste your time with this cheap spammer who had no problem with me predicting a convention bounce for Trump but got unhinged anyway.

And that is what we are talking about. A simple prediction that included an overall positive convention bounce. You would think a “writer” of any sort would know what a prediction is, but no, apparently not.

Tip for you patheticwriter, drinking and posting don't mix well. Choose one or the other. Thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my time today.

As I posted earlier, it is impossible to know yet whether Trump will get a bounce from selecting Pence. Those polls have yet to be conducted.

For you to state, as fact, that there will be no Pence bounce so far in advance of even the first poll can have but one purpose. You are dumping on any enthusiasm Pence may have generated. That is uncalled for. If you don’t like the selection, fine. Just don’t pretend no one else does. That’s Hillary’s and the Dems’ job, not yours.
