Pardon me for “butting in” to your dialogue here. I read through your posts to BF and I think your main “problem” boils down to your last paragraph, where you questioned whether the Catholic Church might condone or even promote what you deemed “anti-Christian” behaviour. (ie: “being viciously rude to someone”) Now, I’m not sure that “question” rises to the level of “persecution”, but it certainly would be insulting to a Catholic. (disclaimer: I am not a Catholic, although I was baptized one ;)

If you read the entire post, there were other options offered. Plus the part you find offensive begins with “if.” It’s not saying it’s true; it’s merely part of my overall question.

A person who calls himself a Christian bombarded me with nasty, unprovoked and truly repulsive insults. I did nothing to merit that onslaught. Are you really trying to make me the villain, simply for trying to understand why it happened?

Dear NYer,

You can safely ignore this person with issues.

Says a lot that Fantasywriter would continue with this attack on my Christianity without having the decency to ping me to it. That should give you a warning that he/she has issues that neither you nor anyone else here can help with (short of prayer).

To save you time wondering what this could possibly be about, I posted a single sentence predicting a poll with the end result of Trump getting a bounce from his convention.

Seriously. LoL!
I know!... you are thinking "huh??"

I made not one but two replies to Fantasywriter answering to the question. That wasn't acceptable to Fantasywriter who was then harassing me with spam and started accusing me of things.

Compare my being obliging - to the very first reply Fantasywriter made to someone who joined the discussion:

It’s sad, embarrassing (for you) and pathetic that you couldn’t figure this out for yourself.
If I had responded at first to Fantasywriter with piling on insults such as "sad, embarrassing and pathetic" then Fantasywriter would have a case and I might even be apologizing now.

Finally, at the end, I simply posted a link to a poll and not much else. Certainly no insults whatsoever and you can see the disgusting attack I got on my Catholic values and Catholics in general. Sheesh... Huh?? Right?

Next time maybe I will first respond by calling someone and their post out as "sad, embarrassing and pathetic" like Fantasywriter did. Then at least if you get pinged it would actually be worth your consideration in some sane and meaningful way.

It's OK for you to quickly make nasty insults "sad, embarrassing and pathetic" to someone who disagreed with you.

It is also fine for you to spam, harangue, accuse, take out of context, insult a person's Catholic values from their About Me Page and redefine opinion/fact so you can abuse someone - that you disagree with. Obviously I am the victim here.

I didn’t ping you because my post was not adressed to you. I had hoped, and still hope, for an objective voice of reason. Your nonstop lies and smears are unhelpful at best.

The whole exchange in context shows you are an unstable abuser and a hypocrite.

Why should you start making good sense now?
Your post was about me.
Any reasonable minded person would have pinged me to it.
You did not.

I have already forgiven and prayed for you.
To me it means nothing because you are not to be taken seriously.
But you need to make things right with God.
Now go forth - and sin no more...

‘The whole exchange in context shows you are an unstable abuser and a hypocrite.’

Please stop lying about me.

Thank you.

All I can say is that it seemed to me you were attempting to identify why BF’s behavior was what it was. And the fact that you did a search on his lamb symbol to try and identify what his religious convictions might be, seemed kinda bizarre to me, to be honest. And once you determined he was probably a Catholic, you more or less were asking him if his religion condoned such behavior. Just my two cents and the 21st I saw it. Good luck with your resolution. (non-sarc)

You’re right about one thing, but I’d already admitted it. I DID wonder why I was hit with so many nasty, unprovoked insults. That much is true.

I searched on the symbol because I wasn’t sure. What if it had turned out to be an Episcopal symbol? Can you imagine the meat shredder I’d have been run through, if I had guessed or assumed that symbol represented one religious tradition, and it turned out to represent a different one altogether? I shudder to think.

Perhaps you hadn’t noticed, but after I identified the symbol, I made no further comments. If I was supposedly gunning for a person or a religion, why wouldn’t I have said something? I simply took the entire situation to God in prayer, and left it there.

Sometime later, several days or nearly a week, the discussion was resumed entirely apart from my input. I.e.: I wasn’t the one who wanted to keep thrashing the subject. I did respond to the discussion at that point, but mostly with questions. That’s how you gain insights: by asking questions.

Thank you for your good wishes. Blessings to you also.
