I don’t believe you.
When the cop goes to pull someone over, the first thing they do is call the station with information about the vehicle. That way they can find out if the car is stolen or has an APB on it or whatever.
There’s no doubt in my mind that a cop knows if they’re pulling over a politician or not.
All this said: politicians are seldom held accountable for major violations of the law (see Hillary Clinton). Minor violations, forget it.
Another phony.
Now we see why Scott is such good friends with Lindsey Graham
Not being black, what kind of racist thing was going on all those times I was stopped by the cops and didn’t get a ticket.
” I have felt the anger, the frustration, the sadness, and the humiliation that comes from feeling that you are being targeted for nothing more than being just yourself.”
You mean like BLM targets whitey? The police?
I believe it. But I do not believe it has to do with just targeting blacks. I believe it has to do with experience, crime statistics, which all combined, equals fear and wariness. The black community needs to realize that there is a reason more blacks are prosecuted and imprisoned, it is because they commit more crime proportionally. The liberal politicians that run these cities, must clean up these places that produce rampant crime, but they won’t. They will just continue to blame whitey and continue to pander for votes.
I love Tim Scott. Real conservative. If you disparage him, you are seriously a racist.
Well, say this is a legitimate problem, I don’t doubt that some profiling goes on simply because of the massive amount of crime that blacks commit. He complains that this causes innocent blacks to feel “pressure”.
That’s a shame, but I’ve never seen a black person worry themselves about the “pressure” that whites feel when they are alone on a city street or train car with feral black youths. That kind of pressure often leaves white people dead or seriously injured, whereas most of the pressure blacks feel from police is going to end up simply inconveniencing them, if they aren’t criminals and they don’t start fighting with the police.
When I see black people showing some sympathy for the dead white people they leave in their wake, I’ll start showing some sympathy for the inconvenienced black people that police leave in their wake.
Everyone is too sensitive this day and age. I am a 55 year old white man. When I was a teenager and my friends and I cruised around in our cars at night we got pulled over also. I have assumed the position many times in my life. Been asked “is that pot I smell” when there was nothing to smell. Why? Because back then and even now if you get a bunch of teenage boys together, no matter their race, you have a chance that something bad is going to happen. Did it piss me off back then, yes, but I learned a valuable lesson also. Don’t have an attitude when questioned by the cops or your parents and most likely you will be fine.
We need to accept the fact that cops DO profile people and to me SHOULD profile people. When gray haired old ladies are causing most of the crime then I would expect them to be pulled over and questioned more often.
We should all be up in arms when a cop truly goes rogue but the BLM movement is once again a media creation where they all seem to pick the wrong people to demonstrate for (Michael Brown was a thug) and ignore people we should all fight for. Tim Scott should note issues he has had but he should not play into BO and the media’s game plan to basically cause a race war.
OK SO LET ME GET THIS straight
GOT STOPPED 7 TIMES FOR violations.....
got it
foggin ice hole
stfu and sit down facing the wall with a dunce hat on...
Blah blah blah -
Let us look at the black violent crime rate shall we? Particularly for young black males ages 13-40
Go to Carolina and have NY license plates and see what happens.
Lie number one.

Speech is in there. Beats giving “The Atlantic” a click ...
I don’t doubt the anecdotes about being stopped for driving while black. It’s obviously done for young drivers, including me at age 19. I remember it, including the injustice of it, but certainly don’t dwell on it.
I recall years ago being unhappy with my career and my ability to support my family. I went in to apply for a job working for the government. It was a job I was very qualified for but one that I could ultimately never get. While sitting in a room full of other applicants I noticed that all of them were minorities. I wonder if Mr. Scott ever felt that type of frustration or anger or sadness. The full weight of the government is slanted against hiring a white person for a government job, a job that I desperately needed at the time. Talk about institutional racism.
I would gladly have traded a 10 minute stop on the side of the road for a fair shake at a high paying, high benefit job.
The democrats only have one black senator also.
Rubio/Cruz/Lee and others must be proud to have him in their ranks....
He admits to speeding. When I got older and started diving the speed limit and driving far less aggressively, I started getting pulled over a lot less.
There also seems to be this implicit assumption that all cops are white racists or that the institution itself is racist. Maybe he did encounter a racist cop or two or three. But most police departments have black officers and most large cities where these incidents occur have black chiefs, mayors, and prosecutors. In that environment crying racism is just delusional.
Otherwise, I think it's awfully difficult to identify a driver's race when a car is moving at speed.
So I am a little skeptical. I personally found that I attracted much less attention from the police once I bought a Volvo. (Also, when I stopped driving like a ****. Well, mostly. My wife still thinks I drive like a ****.)
