Cruz was right on philosophically, but totally lacking in Trump’s dynamism. Yes, he was.

Yes, he was. Wouldn't that actually bar him from being consider a constitutional conservative then?

Cruz was (and is) terrible on his actions, which really shows his true character:
- First off, he literally has committed treason. (Link)
- Secondly, his Presidential run proves his disdain for the Constitution — if we take Cruz's assertion that he is a NBC then we must realize that applying the same to a hypothetical where an NBC goes to England and marries into the royal line (crown prince/princess) then their son would be both in line for the throne as well as [possibly] eligible for the Presidency… now such a situation is obviously at odds with the nationalistic purpose of the NBC and its obvious purpose to prevent such from happening that we now have a proof by contradiction.
- Third, his support of bad trade deals show he is willing to throw in with the globalists to our detriment.

Except that he turned out to be a liar. A strange mixture of philosophical conservatism and practical, everyday lying. Too strange for my taste, by a long shot.
And... he is Canadian.
