The family of Philando Castile has shared a copy of his permit to carry letter with Fox 9. The permit was issued by Hennepin County on June 4, 2015.

I was in two wilding situations in NYC in the 1980s, before Guiliani. I remember the infamous ‘pimp roll’ walk which you could see a block and the half away and meant you had to get to the other side of the street or up a cross street if you didn’t want trouble. I remember all the locked doors of Korean dress stores on the upper east side and the problem Korean grocers had with black criminals. They were considered easy marks the way Indian convenience store owners are now considered easy marks.
Until some of these people have walked in my shoes and the shoes of others, they can just shut up. (As far as I’m concerned.)
