Ted Cruz to fly with Obama aboard Air Force One to Dallas memorial event

Sen. Ted Cruz accepted an invitation from President Barack Obama to travel aboard Air Force One on Tuesday to Dallas for an interfaith memorial honoring the victims of last week’s attack.

The news was reported by multiple reporters who spotted Cruz at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland where the president’s plane departs from.

There ARE times to set aside political "optics" even if it's to show honor to dead public servants cut down in the line of duty.

Those men laid down their lives in service to their fellow human beings (including Obama, Hillary and Donald Trump) - a sacrifice spoken of by our Lord as the "greatest sacrifice," and honoring their sacrifice means far more to the good Lord than political "optics."

Sorry you and some others can only think political campaigns instead of the larger picture.

We're far beyond politics here.

I would never expect a Cruz, a Bush or anyone else to refuse to do the right thing, to please anyone, much less campaign supporters.

It is not anyone's responsibility to beg, cajole, and smooth the ruffled fur of those poor deluded CruzBots who continue to engage in a last ditch political guerilla movement to try and prevent Trump's nomination, like (for example) that self-righteous holy roller 'Kendal Unruh' who is working night and day from her Colorado church-at-home to try and 'free the delegates' for your boy Cruz, and all the junior Senator from Texas has to do is to tell his followers to cease and desist, endorse Trump, and work to UNIFY the GOP instead of dividing it.

Grow up, you're not in kindergarten anymore, either face reality, get behind Trump, vote to PREVENT Hillary from reaching the White House, or just slink away with the rest of your deluded Cruzlims and be done with it.

Suppose the Principle of your child’s school hated your kid. Every day this Principle would whip the bullies into a frenzy of hatred against your child. He actively inflamed and incited them to be verbally abusive, and if the bullies took to throwing rocks and bottles at your kid, he actually rewarded them for it.

After months of escalating hatred, the bullies kill your child. The Principle approaches you and says, “As is the custom, I’ve rented a limo. Will you ride with me to your child’s funeral?”

It’s not a perfect analogy, but it captures the gist of the situation. Cruz should have refused.
