“I dont understand why goat farmers arent making a fortune right now. One might think Obama would have kicked that industry in the tail as much as hes done for guns.”
You must not live in a rural area. 2 years ago, I knew of one goat farmer, today I know of at least 20.
The money is good, and the buyers are from the city, where raising livestock is frowned upon.
r-o-c-k-I-n-q-s-R-A-N-C-H is the name of our RANCH. We are quite rural as we aren’t allowed to quarter our horses in the city. We’re down to two old horses now. We all got old together.
There’s only one goat farmer in the area. He is a black guy who raises them, and leases them to people to keep down the weeds on their property. Last I talked to him he was in deep financial trouble as people aren’t leasing his goats anymore. Seems we have a drought in California, and the weeds aren’t all that bad at this time. Most of his clientele are black people too, and they don’t have jobs anymore, and those that do haven’t seen any raises for a long time just like everybody else, but the prices of everything keep going up. They simply can’t afford to lease his goats anymore.
