Attorney General Loretta Lynch told law enforcement union leaders Friday that it’s unlikely the Justice Department will pursue hate crime charges in Thursday’s Dallas shooting of police officers, Yahoo News has learned, because the suspect in the crime is dead.
Lynch told the leaders in the 45-minute meeting that a hate crime investigation would be on the table if more suspects are discovered, according to a police union official at the meeting. So far, investigators have said that evidence suggests the suspect, Micah Johnson, a 25-year-old Army veteran, acted alone. “We continue to have faith that the attorney general is going to take this as far as it goes,” the police union official said.
Dallas Police Chief David Brown said Friday morning the suspect in the murders of five police officers said he “wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.” The suspect told police he was not affiliated with any group and that he was upset by recent police shootings of black men. Police later killed him with a robot-operated bomb.
Leaders of the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents more than 300,000 police officers, pressed Lynch during the meeting to consider investigating the crime as a hate crime. They also shared their concerns about the tone of the racially charged debate around police-involved shootings.
The federal hate crimes statute applies to offenders targeting people based upon their “actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin.”

She doesn’t know if there are accomplices, but just in case there are, she wants to take hate crime off the table because of the perpetrator’s skin color. A hate-crime investigation would bring up the possibility in the public’s mind that blacks can be racist too.

Yes it would be helpful, IF there was a semblance of a rule of law in America.
It would help by forcing an investigation into his associates and ties, possibly leading to conspirators who had knowledge. Persons with knowledge are guilty of crimes IF the law was followed.
BUT here in BHO's hate filled America the rule of law is whatever he says it is. We live in a dictatorship whether we want to believe it or not.

Those things, together with law enforcement statements that it was a well-planned attack, show that among this man’s many crimes is the crime of lying to police when he said that he acted alone. It’s the narrative that he - and the Obama regime apparently - wanted the public to believe. And if the Obama regime wants people to believe it, facts be damned. Heck, the protesters are still using, “Hands up, don’t shoot”, as if it wasn’t already known as a well-documented media/regime lie.

So! Let me see if I have this right:
A white guy shoots a black and is then killed by police...the crime was a “hate crime.”
A Black guy shoots white cops and then killed by police...it is not a “hate crime.”

Hate crime laws were made to criminalize anything a white does and set free blacks who assault whites.
