Vanity: The Issues Plaguing African-Americans Today
self | self

Posted on 07/08/2016 6:18:43 AM PDT by ErikJohnsky

The Black Lives Matter movement is nothing less than a so-called movement stirring stuff up. Sure, the police forces might have a few bad apples, but aren't these people supposed to be all for due process? Someone takes a video or something, but without the full story/context, and immediately, the cops are guilty?

I think not.

One of the problems the black community has today is the much higher rate of crime among blacks compared to other groups, Hispanics included. Lower school graduation rates, low college attendance, and even lower majoring in USEFUL majors among blacks who get to college. Why is the nuclear family such a distant concept for so many young black kids (as in their pappies left before they were born)?

Jim Crow is over, a Democrat invention. Slavery is long over, a Republican achievement. Clearly, this is a problem of behavior.

Sure, there might be some bad apples among the millions of honorable cops; but the message, from people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and guilty liberal enablers like DiBlasio, feeds this problem. People like them, and other parents of young blacks should be teaching their kids to respect and honour the institution of the police, not to be automatically suspicious of them. Such an attitude from the likes of the race pimps only teaches a disrespect for the law. "F**k tha Police?" Uhhh those police keep blacks safer than they would've been without police.

Are there some whites who don't treat blacks with respect? Absolutely. Of course, walking with pants where they should be, and not wearing a stupid amount of chains might help tho with regard to looking respectable. And stop wearing hoodies even when its not raining; you look like you're trying to conceal yourself, but then wonder why people get suspicious.

One of the tragedies about Bill Cosby getting accused is that he was one of the rare voices of reason among politically prominent blacks regarding young African-American behavior. I'm starting to think the reason the accusations popped up was they BLM thought he might torpedo them, and that whiny feminists would immediately toss Cosby aside because of so-called "rape culture."

This is the 800 gorilla in the room. The silent majority is sick of it all being whitey's fault.

The silent majority is sick of it all being whitey's fault.

If true then they are the second MOST silent majority in the nation. Just behind Muslims who oppose terrorism.

I take issue with the statement that slavery was a Republican achievement. Really?? Other than that, I agree with a lot of what he says.

I obviously meant ABOLISHING SLAVERY was a Republican achievement.

If a majority of them would refrain from premarital sex they could solve a lot of this

Years ago a wonderful older black friend told me how he had been raised and it was sad. His elders taught him. “the man (white) ain't going to let you be nuthin’ or do nuthin’”. And for many years that was true and then the government came in and gave them free stuff. That didn't help and now we are here. Wish I had the answer.

You can have great regard for law enforcement and still want them to be held to high standards. Secondly, I don't give government as being right as the default. Government will protect their own, just look at NC, now police body cam videos will not be made public.

The commons will settle down once they see .gov going to jail, people being held accountable and a equal treatment of the law.

Most of this nonsense is the same bad actors in the street causing problems and again and again they are not put in jail. The cops will never get a fair deal when they have to encounter those types of people. It is very similar to wrestling a pig. The cops will appear 'wrong' in many of those encounters.

Fair observations. Your list of race-baiters should include 0bama, IMHO.

Lower school graduation rates, low college attendance

Come on - blacks don't need to go to school.

They're entitled to whatever they want.

You nailed it. Whitey hasn't cared. The white people are predatory bigots narrative has been pushed for decades.

White people watch movies and TV shows, etc. pushing it.
White people watch sports pushing it.
White people elect politicians pushing it.
White people send their white kids to schools teaching it.

The response...crickets.

Even here on FR, I've seen posters praising themselves for ignoring the blatant propaganda. Propaganda always has consequences, sometimes extreme. Kistallnacht didn't happen in a vacuum.

The only real issues facing black Americans today is liberalism and their mindless embrace of it. All paid for by the taxpayer funded benefits they receive in trade for being slaves on the liberal plantation to perpetuate the illusion of reaching social justice. It’s one of the most effective long cons ever conceived and executed.

Law Enforcement Facts

Key Data about the Profession

There are more than 900,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the United States, which is the highest figure ever. About 12 percent of those are female.

According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports, an estimated 1,165,383 violent crimes occurred nationwide in 2014, a decrease of 0.2 percent from the 2013 estimate.

Crime fighting has taken its toll. Since the first recorded police death in 1791, there have been over 20,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Currently, there are 20,789 names engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

A total of 1,439 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, an average of one death every 61 hours or 144 per year. There were 123 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2015.

There have been 15,725 assaults against law enforcement officers in 2014, resulting in 13,824 injuries.

The 1920s were the deadliest decade in law enforcement history, when a total of 2,437 officers died, or an average of almost 243 each year. The deadliest year in law enforcement history was 1930, when 304 officers were killed. That figure dropped dramatically in the 1990s, to an average of 162 per year.

The deadliest day in law enforcement history was September 11, 2001, when 72 officers were killed while responding to the terrorist attacks on America.

New York City has lost more officers in the line of duty than any other department, with 705 deaths. Texas has lost 1,682 officers, more than any other state. The state with the fewest deaths is Vermont, with 23.

There are 1,102 federal officers listed on the Memorial, as well as 668 correctional officers and 36 military law enforcement officers.

There are 292 female officers listed on the Memorial; eleven female officers were killed in 2015.

During the past ten years, more incidents that resulted in felonious fatalities occurred on Friday than any other day of the week. The fewest number of felonious incidents occurred on Tuesday.

First of all, there is no Black Community. The term Black Community is a political construct intended to homogenize disparate black subcultures that have no commonality other than skin color.

The black plague created from thin air called Black Lives Matter is nothing more than a paid mob of rabble rousers attempting to squeeze every last ounce of juice from the Obama administration.

So many problems...many of the problems need to be solved within the family, but a lot of black families have been dysfunctional for a couple of generations and there aren't role models there. When Bill Cosby made the big push to get black parents to take responsibility and instill discipline and the value of education in their kids, he was largely vilified by the black community. The same happened when the black mayor of Philadelphia told young black men to stop wearing saggy pants and to speak correct English or they'll never get a decent job.
