A Minnesota traffic stop turned deadly Wednesday evening as a police officer opened fire on a black driver.

The victim, 32-year-old Philando Castile, died at a Minneapolis hospital, a family member told The Washington Post. Castile’s mother, Valerie Castile, told CBS Minnesota that her son had died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The St. Anthony Police Department confirmed the driver’s death during a brief Thursday morning press conference but did not identify the officer involved in the shooting or the officer’s race.

The bloody aftermath of the confrontation was broadcast live on Facebook by a female passenger in the car.

“He killed my boyfriend,” said the woman, whose Facebook page named her as Lavish Reynolds, as blood soaked through Castile’s shirt.

In the video, Reynolds says Castile was legally licensed to carry a firearm and was reaching for his identification when the officer opened fire.

“He let the officer know that he had a firearm and he was reaching for his wallet and the officer just shot him in his arm,” she says.

The only reason why there is outrage is that the cop is White and the guy was Black. If a White had been shot, you would hear nothing about it.

White lives matter too.

Keep your hands folded in your lap and where the the cop can see them.

Just common sense.

Much has been made about how dangerous a cop’s job is.

So, a short story.

A few days ago 2 bikers pulled up on the lot. I went out to greet them. We were looking at a truck and this Co. Cop pulls up in the Median. Then another. Then a State Trooper. Then 2 City cops. I go in to get the keys to the truck and all 5 cops pull into the lot and approach the bikers. Start questioning them. I’m sitting on the deck just waiting. Out comes a pistol. Then another. They were both carrying. After about 10 minutes one of the bikers yells to me, “come on salesman, we can drive the truck now!”

So I walk on down and we drive off in the truck.

So, who has the most dangerous job? Me or the cops?

This kind of thing will continue until this racist country dares to elect a black man as president.

Oh....wait....

Half-white.

Doesn’t count.

Fractions matter. ;)

Their most “important thing”, is to protect abd serve the public and make sure THEY go home safely at the end of the day. If they are being taught the OTHER “thing”, they belong in the military, detailed to Iraq and not locked, loaded and primed to kill American civilians and their dogs, and destroy their property.

This isn’t an enemy country and the public are not enemy combatants and I am sick and tired of reading this crap every week.

So, who has the most dangerous job? Me or the cops?

In Canada last year we had 25 fatal police shootings. In the U.S. there were about 1200. So is the job of a police officer in the U.S. 50 times more dangerous than here?

Well, I have not been arrested obeying North Carolina state Concealed Carry LAW.

If you want to play big shot with the cops and violate State law, be my guest. :-)

Dad was NYPD.....he as honest, hardworking and passed over. Had he been crooked he would have done well. Other cops I knew there, some in family, moved fast up the ladder. As far as incompetent? Many if not most (this is in The 50s and 60s) were competent but crooked. There was a dichotomy between catching crooks but also being one. They never saw the paradox or felt crooked themselves. They felt they were owed graft to supplement there salaries which was marginally middle class.
Reminds me of the tv mini series lonesome dove. They were captains in the Texas Rangers and hung their best friend for being found with criminals, but they thought nothing of going south of the border to steal horses and cattle. That was sport!

You have the right to remain silent. You may ignore that right at your own peril.

You might like to sit down with your local DA and ask him what, exactly, constitutes a felony in NC. There is NO WAY you are not an unindicted felon if you are a NC resident.

I knew they had a way of finding out if you are a CCW holder, I thought it was after you hand them your license, but they can search our plates and find out I have a CCW?

They told me in my class, when the officer walks up to your car and you have a gun with you, put both hands on the wheel and tell the officer you have a gun in the car.

My friend was pulled over for something, she has a CCW but did not have a gun with her, when he came back to her car after checking her drivers license, he asked if she had her gun with her, she said no, he told her why not, go get it now!

Ya’ll have a lot of blacks in Canada? Yes? Then I don’t know why.

No? Then there is your answer.

What struck me is the woman passenger was able to record the whole thing and speak calmly throughout it. No emotion. No screaming, no shock, no fear. Very strange behavior.

When they passed Constitutional Carry in Maine a year ago, that was part of the law, that you have to inform a cop you are carrying concealed.

The powers that be put it in the law, probably in order to get more votes in the Maine House and Maine Senate in order to ensure it’s passage.

I don’t necessarily like that provision either, but most cops here in Maine wouldn’t be surprised if someone tells them they’re armed. It’s part of the culture here.
