Your time must be pretty cheap. If you wanted to visit NYC or LA you would need an additional 4 days round trip before you even saw one thing at either. So your cost is 96 hours just to get there ad back. Assuming a $500 plane ticket, that makes your time about 5 bucks an hour. And I drove from LA to Dallas when I moved and no human can tell me they enjoy that drive.

Well, in that case, given the increase in unrest in mexico from the cartels, etc, and the rising islamification of Europe, I have no desire to travel overseas.

There were many options available after 9/11. They chose the worst of all of the, at all levels.
My point continues to be: but there it is. Not flying is a silly reaction to a reality. It is cutting off your nose despite your face.
And my reaction to the OP has not changed: we need more data before we can condemn the TSA on this, mo matter how much we love how it fits into our narrative.

By your own admission you won’t fly BECAUSE of the TSA. That means THEY made the decision for you.
Unless you can tell us with a straight face that if the TSA was abolished and a more intelligent system put n its place (such as what Israel does), you would absolutely not fly. But you can’s say that since you already said you would fly out of Canada on the (mistaken) assumption their system is better.
I have family in NYC and L.A., so I can stay with them.
Leave Friday morning, get there Saturday evening.
Visit and sightsee Monday thru Friday.
Leave early Saturday and get home Sunday evening.
I’m not in such a hurry that I have to get there the same day.

Not if you want to go somewhere outside North America’s contiguous borders. You can take ships but they are very, very slow and very, very expensive.
Your whole word is now circle of about a `1,000 mile radius because you let the government draw that line for you.
After flying for many, many years before TSA proved to me that the people hired for their so-called security were those that flunked their IQ tests. Then they made that a government agency. Added incompetence to stupid. Their is NO excuse for the way our airport security is handled.

After researching possible travel on Amtrak, it became clear that Amtrak exists for the sole reason of getting “ghetto-types fresh off the welfare rolls, and ... power over Whitey.” Horrible, dreadful, sadistic, BLM people manning the cars and calling the shots. That included putting “white folk” off the train at deserted terminals in the middle of the night, making them give up their reserved seats for blacks, and other things. I’d NEVER consider traveling Amtrak.
We travel via car now. If/when emergency family illness, funerals, etc., occur I expect we’ll have resort to air travel on a case-by-case infrequent basis.

No, you do what you have and want to and work through the government nonsense as best you can.
The TSA is a lot less obtrusive than the IRS. Not flying because of the TSA is like not working because of the IRS.

I haven’t seen one in over 5 years. They have a chamber that looks the same but now it just is a stick figure with little yellow boxes where something doesn’t match.
My whole world is about a 7’ radius.
