“... huge step forward for women’s rights, “

an honest look at the stats would say it’s not just about women.

Thank goodness these criminals will not longer be able to get guns.......... Meanwhile the 2nd amendment goes away one bite at a time.

We are losing the message. We are fighting for terrorists rights for weapons and domestic violence people to have weapons. I think we need to change our tactic. The whole fight for terrorists rights is a stunner. I know it has to do with lists and god forbid a person may be on it that doesn’t need to be, but we are talking mostly Muslims and I’d rather go with safe then sorry.

To make this work the feds will have to pass more draconian gun laws which will, of course, further erode our Constitutional rights.

What’s going to happen will be domestic violence charges are going to be weakened.

So everyone will be asking for a jury trial, and briefing their team of defense attorneys?

Another step forward in the subjugation of men by women.

And to leave men defenseless in the face of tyranny and terrorism.

Great! Now we must insist that any politician accused of any crime, even a misdemeanor, not be allowed within a half mile of ANY weapon. Especially those of their guards.

“This is a huge step forward for women’s rights”

Only for those who always submit to abuse.
One mistake and the victim can lose those rights too, labeled as an abuser by the abuser. Mind & legal games can run deep, devouring the bewildered victim.

This does nothing of the sort. The author is misinformed, or more likely, lying. This merely defined if a misdemeanor crime of DV had to have the Mens Ria — the ‘guilty mind’ — of intent. If DV occured because someone was angrily throwing vases at a wall, and the wife was near, and a splinter accidentally injured her, then he’s guilty of DV.

That’s all. Not a “cutting of the legs off the NRA” at all.

Really? So how is that going to stop someone who already has firearms? Move to Chicago where illegal firearms are okay?

How many anti-gun women will go out with a man with the specific goal of getting a DV conviction? Its for a good cause!! Eliminate guns!! “73 of my former boyfriends can’t own guns! Yee haa!”

Please note the Court was just enforcing an act of congress. Congress passed the law.

If wife beaters wants to get a gun, they’ll get a gun. No amount of laws will stop them. This has been proven time and time again.

Not to worry scientists all over the world are working developing a realistic robotic female. One that will not rat you out to the cops. These 2cd, 3th gen female bots are already very popular in China and Japan.

I’ve been on and off FR since the 90’s. I love this site and what it stands for, but occasionally it seems like a majority of folks here (or at least the ones who post frequently) really do sound like nuts.

I think reasonable people can agree or disagree with this ruling, even those who are very pro-2nd Amendment, but when you guys start berating people who disagree with you on a legitimate issue, you remind me of those on the other side.

Let people argue their opinions and don’t try to shut them up. Personally I think this ruling is quite reasonable.

I,unlike some here, believe that there are *some* people who shouldn't be allowed to have firearms. Those convicted of certain *serious* crimes...and those with certain *serious*,*long term* psychiatric conditions (e.g.,schizophrenia).

But this is going too far....*way* too far.

I bet the firearms sales in Walmart parking lots will diminish because of this.
