The Marines no longer can say infantryman, mortarman etc. This is past ridiculous. I promise that not a single man who ever commanded either a marine or army rifle company in combat was consulted prior to this idiotic ill advised policy change. Rifle companies have time for very little BS as it is weapons training, squad tactics, platoon tactics, mortar training, arty fire adjustment, radio procedures, map reading, claymores, plus so much more. I took the first company I had in 68 and we trained some 100 montagnards and zeroed their M-16’s. We got everyone qualified in 4-5 hours on the ARVN range in downtown Ban Me Thout. Next we trained them on LAWS as one of our top scroungers got a flatbed full of cases of LAWS. After it was claymores. American units do not have the efficiency in the bush/local AO’s that the enemy has as he knows the terrain and people. No more monkey wrenches are needed you Muslim Obama.
