Trump and James Madison
Founding fathers quotes | 06/28/2016 | crz

Taxes on Consumption are always least burdensome, because they are least felt, and are borne too by those who are both willing and able to pay them; that of all taxes on consumption, those on foriegn commerce are most compatible with the genius of policy of the states.

James Madison, Address to the States, April 25th, 1783

Except during the Civil War and perhaps another time ( not real sure on this fact ) this nation survived WITHOUT any Federal income taxes ( thanks to that moron Wilson for the income tax...NOT ! ), because we had tariffs.

I really DO wonder what is being taught in ALL schools about our founding and American history!

Even when posters reply with facts, some still refuse to accept them and reality; sadly.

After all, those Founders and Framers of the 1787 Constitution relied on the ratification process in the States (voters), and any future Amendment to that Constitution, by the Constitution's own provision, still requires the assent of "the People."

The Bill of Rights is the glue which held the Constitution together; and enabled the creation of the new country. The sine qua non of the realization of the Constitution.

Not to be dismissed lightly by the Kenyan impostor or anyone else.1787... 1791... Who believes that the founders sat on their hands for 4 years just for the hell of it?

Only the dull-witted, the ignorant or the destroyers of the Republic.

We are much better off if Hillary is there to do it, because Trump isn’t “conservative enough.”

That is literally the dumbest non-sequitur I can recall in the last year.
A year full of truly dumb statement from both major parties and a flock of wannabe Obamas...

Even up to near WW2. Prior to that, the only ones who really paid income tax was the federal employees. The rest? The rates were so low that...of course then there was FICA which came under FDR.

Federal withholding tax came a result of FDR.

Ought to have heard my folks talk about that asshole.
Wilson got that amendment thourgh just prior to Christmas. And it was never ratified legally.

Ya know, I am trying to think of the three that did not bind themselves to the constitution. I know one was Mason, the other was Henry? And one other?

They all believed that this constitution gave WAY to much power to the federal government.

One more and this old man is off to bed.

I wonder if any of these so-called experts ever looked up Reagans platform and compared it to Trumps present platform.

I did, and it is VERY similar.

Strong military, Strong foriegn policy, strong economic platform, and strong pro american business-Reagan actually imposed strict tarrifs on a lot of things and was called the most protectionist since Hoover. About the only thing that Reagan was different is immigration-he got swindled on that one by the rat congress.

The best president in the 20th century.

Oh I compared Reagan's and Trump's platforms; I'm quite thorough, about looking at such things during primary season.

Good night and pleasant dreams!

——Trump Conservatism——

On another thread, the writer James Lewis used the term Trump Conservatism. That implies there are Trump Conservatives.

Trump Conservatism does not imply the pure as the driven snow, Christ Like conservatism some use to define the term Conservative. The term encompasses the conservative philosophy with out precisely defining the limits.

once again I state for strengthening my point, this election is not about conservatism. It is about much much more. It is about Making America Great Again.

Those that hew only to their narrow narrow conservative views might be left out but that is their fault

the problem is that consumption tax may or may not have merit..... but do away with the personal income tax FIRST.... and make provisions to incentivize corps to repatraite offshore profits with jobs here...

the government is NOT TRUST WORTHY

look at the national debt
look at the waste
look at how they spend
look at the foolish issues they focus on
while 94 million are out of work

WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF AN 8 YEAR+ RECESSION / DEPRESSION...
and obama has rigged the numbers and lied 4.7-5.1% unemployment..???
1% - 1.5%growth in GDp
corporate profits are declining
capital expenditures are down
corporations are buying their stock rather than invest in capital expansion
more and more jobs are going out the door and clinton wants to give foreign grads a green card..?? and open borders and flood the country with more illegals, who bring in TB and other diseases we dont even know what they are..she wants to shut down the coal industry and fire all the workers...

OATMEAL AND POTATOES AS JEFFERSON SAID
that’s where we are at .....
THE BREAKING POINT
and DC knows it
hence the militarization of the local PD...
UN vehicles on the hwys
yep...
Libtard groups openly planning violence
supported by the democrats, soros and foreign interests to destroy the country...
HILLARY IS PROPERTY OF THE
HOUSE OF SAUD AND WALL STREET AND THE CFR....
think about it......

Here is the problem as far as they are concerned. They think that all wealth flows from the cities, it does not. It flows from natural resources, and all natural resources do not come from the cities. So, if they actually plan on using force, they had better figure out how to get those natural resources out safely. They can not fight even a war in the mid east where it is in the open, so how do they think they can fight the civil population in the USA? They cant, and they know it. Fact is, their electricity will be shut off immediately which will result in their surrender.

Thank you for your encouragement, and, thank you, too, for the wisdom contained in quotations on your "about" page.

You may have noticed that, throughout the past several years of posting here, my own focus has been on including the actual words and documents of America's Founding generations, early Presidents, early Justices, etc., as the most reliable source for understanding our Constitution and its protections.

Since the "Progressive" movement took over its control and censorship of ideas essential to liberty from textbooks, libraries, public discourse, etc., several generations of Americans are unequipped to wage the battle against "other" ideologies which enslave and "destroy" liberty. Those who understand the history of civilization will know that those ideas existed at the fairly recent time of America's founding as well.

Again, thank you.

With July 4 approaching, a reminder of our trust:

" John Adams, on July 2, 1776, after a day in which the Continental Congress had adopted the Declaration of Independence, wrote to wife, Abigail:

"The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. I am apt to believe it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore.

"You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration and support and defend these states. Yet, through all the gloom, I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is more than worth all the means. And that posterity will triumph in that day’s transaction, even although we should rue it, which I trust in God we shall not…

"It may be the will of Heaven that America will suffer calamities still more wasting, and distress yet more dreadful. If this is to be the case, it will have this good effect at least. It will inspire us with many virtues which we have not, and correct many errors, follies and vices which threaten to disturb, dishonor and destroy us. The furnace of affliction produces refinement, in States as well as individuals...But I must submit all my hopes and fears to an overruling Providence, in which, unfashionable as the faith may be, I firmly believe."

- John Adams
