You are both full of it. Pit Bull mix is a gentle dog. It is how the owner treats them. ....

That's what our friends told us when they adopted a pit bull pup and lovingly raised it. All was fine for a year or two until the dog inexplicably attacked the wife as she was sitting on the couch. The husband couldn't get the dog off and ended up shooting it while its jaws were clamped on the wife's arm.

My second cousin had the same experience with his pit bull, except that it clamped onto his head instead of his arm. What with the jaw strength of pit bulls, I’m still amazed that his skull and brain weren’t punctured.

Exactly. Out of the blue, for NO apparent reason.

My neighbor had a pit and for 2-3 years we met with other neighbors in the park in the afternoon. She loved my corgi. One day as we sat with the dogs curled up at our feet the pit looked at my corgi, and next second had her teeth buried in her neck. It was a horrible experience and my dog had 18 stiches, and another neighbor who helped rescue her had 12. Nightmare.

First question from pit owner? What did your dog DO to make her get attacked? She was lying at my feet, napping.

I’ve heard toooo many stories like this about this breed.
