Memo to George Will, Bill Kristol, and All GOP ‘Never-Trumpers’: Good Riddance!
Mediaite ^ | June 27, 2016 | by Matt Schneider

If for some reason, though, Kristol and Will believe Trump poses such a unique threat to America and to the Republican party’s legacy, then one final and admittedly simple point should have put them at ease long ago.

Trump is not running for dictator, but instead for President of a country with a strong system of separation of powers and checks and balances in place. The Republican party that Will foolishly and haphazardly abandoned will, at all times, be in Congress to reign in any of Trump’s outlandish proposals.

Therefore, all “Never-Trumpers” should take a deep breath and realize that whether Trump wins or loses in November, there will be no long-term damage done to the Republican party that cannot be undone by a future charismatic candidate. Voters are more intelligent than Will and Kristol assume and can distinguish Trump from being a typical Republican.

In fact, the only permanent damage I see is to that of the reputation of Will, Kristol, or any “typical” Republican threatening to protect the purity of “their” Republican party by withholding their support of Trump. And since their narcissistic view has blinded them to the fact that the party belongs not to them and their ideals, but instead to the voters and the voters’ priorities, I have two words for them upon their graceless exit from support of the GOP nominee: “Good Riddance!”

I don’t remember either of them ever having bad words to say about Nixon, who did do harm to the Republican Party. He gave us Carter for starters, but then that gave way to Reagan.

The party of obamacare! The party that couldn’t even defund the grave robbers of planned parenthood! The party of cheap illegal hires!

Trump as far as I’m concerned represents the new We the People Party. If we have to call it the Republican party for now fine but after Trump is President the gOLDparty will just be that! Old and irrelevant!

They had no problem expecting us to support Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney, and “JEB!”. In fact they expected it.

To hell with these guys.

They don’t even know the difference between TRUE and FALSE. Or if they do know, they don’t care.

Trump has- singlehandedly changed the GOP— He has, remade the debate, reformed the message and made a new coalition. He’s like Andy Jackson or the Sainted Ronald Reagan. He is not anyone’s fool. Watch for more changes and new directions in the next few weeks. America will not be the same when he’s done. For fair or foul Trumpism will lead the USA into a new world. The old Republican Party is changed forever!

As far as I am concerned, George Will and Bill Kristol can do whatever they want to do.

Will and Kristol say that they won't vote for Trump just like I chose not to vote for Romney in 2012. It really all comes down to what the author of this piece admits:

"Conservatives believe that individuals should be empowered and given the freedom to make their own choices,. . .

Who cares how Will and Kristol vote? I am going to try to ignore them.

Also, “principled Cruzers” who accept Hillary appointing 3-5 SC Justices.

Go sit in girly-men drum circles and chant your condemnation towards those fighting to support your “principles.”

I have a "former" classmate and now a "former" friend from high school who has gone berserk over Trump. She was for Cruz in the primaries and is extremely upset that Ted didn't call her first to tell her he was dropping out of the race after Indiana. She turned her ire towards Trump and anyone who supports him, including me.

This lady has gone off the deep-end hysterical because we might get an "evil, amoral, unethical, crook" (as she described him in a nasty email to me) into the White House.

At first, when I read what she wrote, I thought she was describing Hillary Clinton to a tee. But she has confusingly conflated and invented all of this evil that she thinks is Trump and is on a personal vendetta towards anything and anybody Trump. A perfectly nice, conservative Christian lady who has turned into a raging liberal, calling me names, saying disparaging things about my wife (because she voted for Trump too) and accusing me of being a racist "Christianphobe" (she must have coined the word herself) because I'm for Trump.

Sound anything like the petulant children whining and crying about Trump among the GOP elites who are voting for Hillary instead of Trump? Georgie Will and Billie Kristol, are you thumb-sucking toddlers listening?

Will & Kristol can do what they want, to be sure. But since they run around and pontificate on the basis of a pseudo "morality"--a faux "idealism"--a sham "analysis"; someone really should pin them down as to the basic issue. Do they or do they not put America & the Americans first!! If they do not, they are either stupid or corrupt or both!

The Constitutional intent is clear. Our Federal Office holders are duty bound to put America First. It really is not debatable: The Issue.

Will and Kristol nauseate me. I voted for Cruz in the AZ primary, but have been very disappointed by his failure to endorse Trump. Once it became “Trump vs Hillary”, it seems to me every American’s duty became crystal clear - but not “Kristol” clear, I guess. Cruz should endorse Trump today, since he didn’t do it yesterday.

BTW - I dislike Trump, but so what? How can he be any worse than Romney & McCain, yet I was supposed to fall in line behind them! Liking, at this point, is irrelevant. It is Trump or Hillary, and Trump undoubtedly loves America. That alone is reason to vote for him!

Well, I disagree with Will and Kristol like you do. And, like this author does.

My point is that this author criticizes Will and Kristol for not following the lead of the voters who want Trump. The author points out that these voters have a right to make their own choices - "Conservatives believe that individuals should be empowered and given the freedom to make their own choices, . . ." That is of course true, but it also applies to Will and Kristol - they, too, have a right to make their own choices.

I think it best that everyone just ignore Will and Kristol. I suspect that only 10% of the adult public has ever heard of them.

Not from anything Americans have seen the last seven years.

Nice to hear you made the move to Trump even though you dislike. People who vote for Hillary are either the gimmedat crowd or are traitors.
