United Way affiliates provide almost $3 million a year to Planned Parenthood, according to a money-tracking website that examines consumer and political causes.
2nd Vote, a conservative, nonprofit watchdog that tracks corporate spending, conducted what it calls exhaustive research of United Way affiliates and their giving to Planned Parenthood.
Last year, 2nd Vote compiled an exhaustive list of United Way affiliates that helped fund the worlds largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, 2nd Vote spokesman Robert Kuykendall said in a formal statement. The latest available financial documentation for each of these affiliates indicates that United Way funnels almost $3 million to Planned Parenthood every year.

I stopped any contribution to United Way decades ago because of this. I always threw the work UW campaign crap in the trash.
Just one of many reasons to decline your companies pressure tactics to get you to donate to united way so they can check the box and make themselves look good. I got pressured annually to donate. Uh, thanks but no thanks. Even the “one time” option was declined. My boss didn’t like it. Too bad.
The people who run it make some big bucks.
That is why I stopped giving to United Way.
Years ago (88-95), as part of the annual UW drive, my employer would tie extra bonus money for their managers. It was based on “participation of direct reports” and not amount given.
One year, my manager came into my cube and asked me to participate, even for a single dollar. See, I was the only “direct report” not participating. He told me, “Just a dollar is all I ask.”
I told him that no, not even a dollar of mine woould be given to an organization that supports abortion-at-will at Planned Parenthood. The look on his face was priceless; he was horrified.
He then sat down real to me and said (quietly), “We aren’t allowed to say ‘Planned Parenthood’ here nor are we allowed to mention abortions.”
“OK.”, I said. It ended there and he never asked me again.
UW is a scam with 80-90% of monies collected going into executive coffers.
I have often had harsh words with the UW fundraiser at work who would figuratively but there hands over their ears, share their head to and fro and yell ‘ la la la I can’t hear you’.
I stopped giving through United Way when the scandal erupted about their executive salaries. Even after the scandal and the “reforms”, their CEO still earns over $1 million a year. And I absolutely hate the “100% participation” drives that they try to get companies to buy into every year. Our office has one. When the poor guy who is responsible for United Way comes to my office, I write a check directly to one of the local charities on the list but I don’t do it through United Way.
sorry...
“..real CLOSE to me..”
Typo
Put not but. Sorry
In my career, I’ve worked for three large companies, one of which is a household name. I’ve been fortunate that none of them have ever participated in the United Fraud scam.
I’ve got my arguments ready if they ever do.
Please, let me see your tax return Mr. Executive. I’d like to compare personal giving to the organization of my choice as a percentage of income.
Hey let’s talk about volunteer hours. Just rolling through my head is closing on 1000 hours a year with one organization.
If you can beat both of those and prove it, we can talk United Way. Otherwise, please leave.
I stopped giving to United Way in the 80s when my employer tried to heavy hand the donations and make them a condition for employment. My answer to HR was to have my attorney call them and ask why contributions were mandatory.
I never got another raise there though and had to change jobs after a few years.
Yes. The United Way is mostly a way to funnel money and influence to leftists.
Amused to see signs here in east Tennessee proclaiming UW's financial goals (those annoying thermometers)...they ALWAYS hit the designated goal...and this area is supposed to be the 'Bible Belt'. Shame, 'Christians'...shame.
I stopped mine when I learned that they were lying to us about being able to earmark your contributions to specific charities. You could do that but it had no effect. UW had already decided the percentages of donations going to each group.
Suppose these simplified numbers. Suppose there were only four charities and you wanted your contribution of $10 to go to number four. Suppose the UW percentages were 25/25/25/25. Suppose there were $1000 contributed total. UW would allocate the dollars $2500/$2500/$2500/$2500. Since you designated your $10 to number four, you would think the allocation should be $2497.5, $2497.5, $2497.5 and $2510. No, not the way it worked. All four still got $2500. UW put all ‘your money’ in four, but deducted the amount you contributed from the general donations so everything remained the same.
uw insisted that your money went were it was designated. But, the fact remains, the charities you did not support did get an increase because of your donations. They say they changed but once you lie, you’re a liar.
BTW, this is the same scam Planned Parenthood uses to claim that no taxpayer dollars go to abortions.
Me too. The company that I worked for had an organized process for donating to the UW. High pressure. At the time, I was okay with it because they helped a lot of people. High pressure, though and my company devoted a couple of hours to the presentations.
Anyway, the UW threatened to pull their support for the Boy Scouts and that was the last nail in the coffin for me. Also, apparently the leadership where stealing, too.
Charities used to shuffle the money around. I’ll have no part in it...... Please look at an organizations record. My money goes to those that spend 90 + %.. Soon, the Gov’t will create an organization and funnel funds back to themselves! Oh, wait,,,,,,,.......

Freddy Mac, Fannie May. Created by Gov’t donate heavy to politicos. Great game if you can play in it !
Yes.....all featherbedding scammer CEOs and management with high, high salaries. Ultra luxury, limos and all that.
Many years ago, United Way announced it would quit giving to the Boy Scouts.... this was when the Boy Scouts still had a moral compass. I used to contribute regularly to UW. When the new policy was announced, my giving stopped. My employers even had big pushes to get us to give. I refused. And still do.
I stopped after the mess with the Boy Scouts. That goes back a ways.
