Many experienced GOP strategists unwilling to work for Trump (Some of Cruz's Crew)

WASHINGTON — Donald Trump has finally acknowledged that to best compete against Hillary Clinton he needs more than the bare-bones campaign team that led him to primary success. But many of the most experienced Republican political advisers aren’t willing to work for him.

While there are exceptions, many strategists who best understand the mechanics of presidential politics fear that taking a Trump paycheck might stain their resumes, spook other clients and even cause problems at home. They also are reluctant to devote months to a divisive candidate whose campaign has been plagued by infighting and disorganization.

“Right now I feel no obligation to lift a finger to help Donald Trump,” said Brent Swander, an Ohio-based operative who has coordinated nationwide logistics for Republican presidential campaigns dating to George W. Bush.

“Everything that we’re taught as children — not to bully, not to demean, to treat others with respect — everything we’re taught as children is the exact opposite of what the Republican nominee is doing. How do you work for somebody like that? What would I tell my family?” Swander said.

As in years past, the primary season created a pool of battle-tested staffers who worked for other candidates, from which Trump would be expected to draw. But hundreds of such aides have so far declined invitations to work for him.

Chris Wilson, a senior aide to Ted Cruz, said the Texas senator’s entire paid staff of more than 150 ignored encouragement from Trump’s team to apply for positions after Cruz quit the presidential race. Wilson said that even now, many unemployed Cruz aides are refusing to work for the man who called their former boss “Lyin’ Ted.”

$12 million. That’s nothing.

This is where you out yourself as a fraud. 12 million in just 2 days isn't nothing. You're just making your initial lie, that Trump was "out of money," even worse with this pitiful diversion.

Hillary has run 46,000 ads in June

By the way, I looked this up and saw no reference to "46,000 ads" by Hillary Clinton. I see some talk of some lame ass ads she launched earlier in June, but not a 46,000 (to be played) ad buy. I also see ads being launched by Pro-Trump Super Pacs, as well as Trump's regular ads being launched.

I absolutely remember Orca. That incident also said volumes about Romney’s supposed “competence”.

Would you agree that Trump’s sniping should stop, too or is this a one way street?

Who has Trump been sniping, clown? He even refused to condemn Cruz just a couple of weeks ago. Trump hasn't hit any of his GOP enemies at all except maybe Mitt Romney.

If anything, Trump needs to start attacking Cruz, Ryan, McConnel head on.

Exactly what "sniping" are you even referring to, you liar?

Trump ain’t your daddy’s Oldsmobile

the old order changeth, yielding place to the new

the Cruz types and many of the GOPe can’t grasp those facts.

not to worry though, the convention will heal the wounds.

the question in my mind is who will deliver the stem winding oration that will have the convention in standing ovation for it’s duration

the reason these people are available are because they failed to beat Trump in the first place

Good point. I would add that if Mike Murphy, Ed Rollins, and Steve Schmidt are unavailable, that's net net a win for Trump.

Also if by now they don't know the clear choices before them between Hillary and trump then who the hell want them on their team. They would just be sabotaging trump from the inside anyway.

One thing Trump has done in this election is out Ted all the frauds, fakes and traitors in the gop and it's a good thing. No more I wanna hear from people that this person and that person is a “True Conservative”. That term has been overused by the hucksters to get elected.

of course sometimes it seems the mode to call purity, snowflakeness.

mocking that is mocking God. ironically maybe Trump will learn better before those who were grooving on worldly coarseness will.

Hello ,,,

Rasmussen SOLD His polling firm in 2013 to a Wall Street cheap labor express firm. So those polls are garbage now .

So you whole argument is SHOT !

How about all those Global Media outlet Polls showing the Brits were voting to REMAIN !
The media lie machine was peddling the momentum was with Remain !

A big Fat lie .

People LIE to pollsters .People have cell phones not land lines so pollsters have little data to use .

So let's end the peddling the polls are accurate BS.

Just ask the GOP KY Gov who was 6pts down on election day and won by 5 pts .

The 2014 election cycle is a shining example of bad slanted Left wing polling BS and Spin ! And the British awful con job using push polls just supported that entire premise . Notice how none of the left wing media is talking about it ? Your being fooled .

Turd Cruz certainly could, but he is in it for himself. These consultants are the reason the GOP has been unlucky in most of the elections since Bush I. They suck the life and energy from a campaign.

The clowns referenced in the article have their panties in a wad because they have not and will not be asked to work on the Trump campaign.

They are personally invested in Trump’s defeat because WHEN Trump wins in November, their entire financial future will be reduced to: “Do you want fries with that?

They are curled up in a corner mentally fondling their thoroughly discredited globalist ideas of accommodation.

I have long thought that the so called "brilliance" of Ted Cruz was highly over rated. To me he looks more like and ill informed arrogant a hole that has no problem fabricating "facts" to fit his agenda.
