Why? TPP hasn’t even been voted on, yet. You know how he will vote?
Yea, it’s a bad omen for politically driven and politically correct driven globalist adventures, but Why can’t they just make simpler regional trade agreements and renegotiate them over the years as needed during option periods?
Not really....the analysis is very skewed towards the globalist view point...it is a meh
World commerce was fine, the globalists wanted control
Business people don’t need bureaucracy to do business. Less government means more freedom.
Free societies are bad for world commerce.
Spit.
I didn’t either; tired of dealing with the pop-ups.
I have enjoyed many many years doing business before Bush the first and NAFTA and of course was in business until recently.
56 years all together.
The days before HW Bush were by far the best. Not even close.
Anyone who thinks globalization is better just does not know.
Unless, of course, globalization is part of your racket.
We should go back to trading with our neighbors.
But then you are the whim of the market when you buy bananas. Don't you see how much better off you are when you have CE certified standardized uniformized bananas. Nothing but the best for the animals on the farm.
To the people that matter in this country, we have all seen how this has played out. And we will take no more.
A tip of the hat to the UK for throwing down the gauntlet on the nation destroying global elitists. These political roaches have to be exterminated from every position of influence they nest in...which is to say everywhere.
You forgot to mention the effort last year to regulate vacuum cleaners in the EU (limiting the maximum wattage to 1,600). They really felt that the public needed that one.
Under consideration right now in the EU....a regulation that would regulate hair dryer and toaster wattage. That was a big shocker when it reached the public.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSYrHt1LNkA
They were showing the number of EU regulations for various consumer items. Approximate numbers on some: Toothpaste - 50 regs, Clock Radio - 450 regs. Amazing.
And the EU has 454 laws covering bath towels and and 12,653 laws on milk.
How about you can’t call a preserve “Jam” unless it has 60 percent sugar? Stupid EU regulation like you can’t refill the oil cruet in the vinegar and oil cruet sets that have been on restaurant tables since time began.
Three years ago here in Europe....the EU was discovered to be working on a new regulation.
If you’ve ever been to a Italian or Greek restaurant in Europe...you would have noticed on the table two generic bottles (one vinegar and one olive oil). It’s been the norm for a hundred years. Unlabeled and the restaurant will buy in bulk form....refilling the bottles as necessary.
The EU decided that it needed to be in commercialized bottles, with labels...meaning an increased cost for everyone.
This got out while they were in the middle of this and the public went nuts....why screw up a perfect situation? So the EU managed to stop that regulation. You can sense that they will eventually get around to regulating the ply or thickness of toilet paper at some point.
Or they will mandate toilet paper dispensers that only allow one square at a time. Just like they did with the low-flush toilets here in the USA.
“The exact opposite is true. Britain now has the opportunity for actual free trade. The EU is not a free trade region. It is a highly regulated and restrictive trade zone.
Freeing themselves of high tariffs and banned trade will give them economic growth.”
So I’ve now been running a company in Britain for 16 years. Yeah, I can run that even though I’ve lived in the US for 8.
The EU *is* a free trade zone and there are not tariffs that I’ve come across. I loved it that I could trade with Germany or France and not worry about patent law differences or tax weirdness or anything like that because it was a free trade zone.
Where are you getting your information? I’ve actually done this stuff.
Chaos - seems ironic that wages stopped keeping pace with inflation once we became more fully invested in globalism. Used to be that over a 10 year period, wages went up faster than inflation and one who was eking it out ended up with disposable income. Now those who had disposable income so me years ago are eking it out...
