Why would I correct the neighbors statement?
It’s the typical, *but they are such good people* statement when some catastrophe happens.
All that goes to show is that people don’t know others like they think they do, but to disbelieve that the event took place when it did is staggering.

You disparaged the neighbors statement and it seemed to me that you must have thought there was a better way of stating her thoughts while maintaining the content.
Not all people who commit violent crimes have histories of violent crime. Most do, but some don't. A first time for everything, right?
