As usual in a UK paper, the comments following the article are better than the copy:

“Oi! Junkyard! We the people never gave our permission for the marriage in the first place. We thought Ted Heath was hiring us a good housemaid, not arranging for a domineering wife to move in with all her bleedin’ relatives - with their grubby paws in the biscuit tin, eating all the chocolate ones. So, not so much a divorce, as an annulment on the grounds of false representation. And if you want to act with any authority on the subject, I suggest you get yourself elected, as if you ever could. I mean to say, who’d vote for a drunkard? That’s what passes for democracy round our neck of the woods - that and getting our household accounts audited to show that nobody is poking a fish-knife up the kids’ money-boxes.”

I detest their arrogance but absolutely love their repartee.
