Grocery shopping during Venezuelas food shortages
Think it can't happen here?
One of my nephews thinks it’s a big ####ing joke.
His pop was a Vietnam vet and would Cringe to see how liberal his son turned out. He died 3 years ago.
I put him aginst a wall twice already for other reasons.
He’s not my kid to really do that, and he’s too old for that now anyway.
The fools think they can vote maduro out.
“solidarity” bags. yeah.
My new tag line may be too close for comfort.
Even worse than what I remember hearing about how Russians in the 80’s would stand in line for several hours so they could be allowed to buy a rationed amount of meat, or toilet paper.
I don’t give a rats rectum about those people. It was their weakness. Their laziness. I hope they starve on TV!!
I don’t understand the bitchen....
They got exactly what they were promised, they don’t have to work and get bags of food for free.
And they showed those greedy ass rich people what for, didn’t they...?
Sarc/
The Maduro Diet.
The evidence of the failure of socialism has been extant generations before Venezuela, but that doesn’t dissuade true believers (assuming he’s just stupid but honest) like Bernie Sanders from promulgating his garbage. And Crooked Hillary bent herself into a corkscrew trying to match The Bern’s pie-in-the-sky, socialist vision.
I’ve heard starvation is euphoric.
“...Russians in the 80s would stand in line for several hours so they could be allowed to buy a rationed amount of meat, or toilet paper...”
Not even Communist Party members had toilet paper in Russia in the 1980s. They used paper from Party Congress reports and so forth. People would see a line and get in it knowing some food commodity had come in.
“...It was their weakness...”
What about those who always opposed Chavez and his Socialists? Ya know, like those of us who opposed Obama but lost the election.
DON’T LOSE!! Be damned sure you win.
Yes, it is what happens when you DON’T FIGHT oppression !!!
By the way, how is the GOPe ???
“What about those who always opposed Chavez and his Socialists?”
They gave up and fled the country
Actually, I currently have a workmate from there, and his parents and grandparents at least are still there enduring this.
They are in the more well off class, modest professional class what ever that is.
He said they are nervous but somewhat fine, and it’s nowhere as bad.
Their piers actually still meet at the Club and play golf frequently.
They have some little underground for supplies but see the writing on the wall he’s sure.
He said they are in total denial and won’t listen to reason, to leave.
Some are slowly waking up and realizing they better get a commercial flight out eventually, or the idiots will nationialize a jet and its downhill from there.
It reminds me of the pictures of “shopping” in Russia when the soviet was in charge
I had experience in Central America but none in South America when I finally visited Venezuela in the mid-80s. I was in culture shock because it was such an ultra-modern country compared to Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, et al.
My late father used to say, “There are now more neurosurgeons in Caracas, Venezuela than there were in the whole world when I became one.”
But then Venezuela changed.
