Yes. They were the Scots-Irish, who came here and built America.

Look up Ramsey McDonald. Today's Scotland is built on the foundation he laid after World War I.

They’re just flopping around on the Parliament floor, eh?

Just for the Halibut.

Scotland is to the British as California is to America. Get rid of the former and the later become a conservative country.

“Scotland is to the British as California is to America.”

Politically perhaps, but California is an economic dynamo with a world-beating agricultural sector, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, and Aerospace.

Scotland has declining offshore oil that the Brits manage, and some world class whiskey makers. Nothing much else of note economically.

Don’t forget Scotland’s outrageously expensive bed and breakfasts. Wouldn’t mind so much if the weather was somewhat livable.

Now I suppose all the bigwigs at the EU headquarters are
afraid all of their patsies are gonna bolt!

If Scottland believes Brussels has their best interests in mind then by all means leave.

If 23 years of being in the EU is more valuable to you than 330 years of being in the UK then go for it... Just realize, Dollars to doughnuts, France will vote to FRexit shortly and other states will be leaving as well.

I would recommend to you that you had better be prepared to get out if they do get another chance to vote and actually leave the UK.

What will happen to Scotland if they did so, and joined the EU, is that the oligarchs in the EU will designate all of scotland north of the Glasgow-Edinburgh line a eco enivironment area and you will again see the forced removal Scots not unlike the great highland clearances.

History will repeat and the bastards at Brussles see that area as their own little playground. The enviro nazis will start it and it will not be able to be stopped.

I’ll point out one curious thing....which most Scots may not realize.

Just because you are some independent country...applying for membership of the EU...does not mean an automatic open door.

Even if they run the election by October (what most believe will happen) and the results are verified by mid-October...they can submit the application to the EU, but it might be three years....maybe even five years before they are accepted by the 27 remaining states of the EU.

There is the possibility that several states will question the financial worthiness of Scotland, and you could add two to five additional years on top of the waiting period.

Same way for Northern Ireland and Wales...if they are curious about this opportunity.

As for London-City? Zero chance that the EU and the 27 member states will accept a city trying to enter under this method...it’ll never happen.

So, some folks might wake up by the fall after some frenzy of referendums and discover there just isn’t a big open door to the EU, and now what?
