This was the day the British people defied their jailers
The Telegraph ^ | June 24,2016 | Tim Stanley

Why did they do it? That, we’ll pick apart in the next few weeks. I think that Leave genuinely ran the better campaign, more hopeful and upbeat.

Immigration mattered a great deal – although one YouGov poll ranked it third behind democracy and the economy. It’s possible that voters grasped the essential point about this referendum better than we the commentators did.

It was a vote of confidence in Britain. Should we run our affairs or should we delegate it to foreign bureaucrats? When I was leaving my polling station, I said to a chap: “I found voting quite emotional.” He replied that this was the day we got our freedom back. That’s how it feels for millions of Britons.

Not how it feels, perhaps, for Londoners or Scots. We’ve seen a new division emerge within our country. Scotland increasingly defines its politics as Left-wing and Europhile. London is simply a different country: the metropolis triumphant. The young may have overwhelmingly voted Remain, too – but, hey, they will grow older someday. The young who voted Remain in 1975 overwhelmingly voted Leave in 2016. In part, perhaps, because they didn’t like being characterised as ancient bigots by the Remain side. Top tip for winning future elections: don’t call the electorate “thick” or “losers”. It, er, turns them off.

What happens now? We drink. We be happy. We sing a song. Then we piece back the country and get on with the great project of building the British century. We voted the right way because we’re a nation with a sense of destiny. The world is ours now. Go get it.

Nope.

Cruz and Carson, if they HAD taken any kind of a position against illegal immigration, would be basking in some kind of popularity, which they are NOT precisely BECAUSE they had not nor have not taken any such kind of a position Anyone, including a woman, who has, have or would take any kind of a position with any credibility in the eyes of the electorate who, by the way, have the only normal level of testosterone, generally speaking, compared with politicians and the other groups, corporate leaders, press, lobbyists and hollywoodians, that portrayed any real, constitutionally based position against illegal immigration anywhere close to condemning it, would be enjoying the well deserved popularity Trump is showing and for that very reason

So, in fact, Cruz and Carson most certainly and most definitely did NOT advocate against illegal immigration.

But you can dream on.

Cruz was for legalization of illegals (amnesty) until Trump jumped in.

I have to think that the British just got sick of being lied to especially in the area of Immigration. People have eyes they see what is happening - maybe slightly late but better late than never. They are sick and tired of being told that Muslims are basically good when all the terrorism is being committed by them.

They were also sick and tired of voting for a party and then have rulings made in the EU which negated their vote.

I am hoping the emergence of Trump shows that Americans too are sick and tired of being lied to by the political elite and are ready to return to some sort of sane, rational belief system!

Or, perhaps, the very lives they have lived showed how bad a decision they had made and they corrected their mistake.

Nah, that couldn't be it. /sarcasm

Or, perhaps, they realized the unicorns and pixie dust they were promised was complete BS after all.

You’re right (the margin wasn’t very large), but I suspect those 52% realized they had to act now before the 48% quickly grew. I suspect many of those supporting remain weren’t “Anglo” in any sense of the word, and their numbers were growing with each passing day.

Look no further than the invasion from Calais (where dark immigrants were constantly battling to get from France into England) to understand what English people have been dealing with.

Here in the US we have the same dynamic at work (mass immigration from Latin America & Asia instead), and Trump singlehandedly returned it to front & center after our overlords had decided it was a done deal.

John McCain is "George-Soros-Level" evil.

I'm always praying for his melanoma to return.

I am so happy over this vote. Despite the “Chicago Way” threats from Obama and others, the UK people stood up with a strong voice and said they’d rather venture into the unknown than labor under the yoke

Took long enough for them to realize they have been colonized and are being treated that way. This MAY save Royal heads from rolling-literally-but they will have to have the guts to repel the invaders if they dont want to be ruled by sharia. Occupied as they are it will be difficult. Hope their famous tenacity serves them now.

The @realDonaldTrump's visit to the UK was criticized but he finds himself in the UK celebrating the #Brexit he advocated.

In fact none of the TV pundits even mentioned the Brexit vote happening at the time of the visit like it did not even occur to them the UK would vote "Leave". Trump was ahead of the curb.
