Donald Trump's campaign believes it has the support of enough delegates to prevent a convention coup next month in Cleveland, and is building an expansive team to make sure of it.
The campaign's whip team, as first reported by Politico and outlined in interviews with multiple Trump strategists involved in the effort, includes 150 paid staffers and volunteers that will act as a direct line to delegates at the Republican National Convention.
Trump's team insists it's not a direct response to the growing grassroots effort to change the convention rules to make it easier to oust Trump as the party's nominee — the whip team, one operative said, is focused on laying the groundwork for "a unified convention, which shows how presidential Mr. Trump can be."

I certainly hope they are successful in preventing the anti0Trump elements from even starting anything at the convention.
The Dems and Hillary would love to see an internal fight among the delegates at the Republican convention.
They should instead declare full support to Trump, since he did win enough delegates to qualify to be the nominee. They should respect the will of the people and support Trump, who also just happens to be the one with the best chance to beat Hillary.
The establishment will do anything and everything they can to keep Trump from getting the official nomination. They’ll have a collective aneurysm if he were to win the general.
Delegates that betray the will of the voters are foolish.
Trying to place anyone besides Trump as the nominee would give joy and the election to Hillary.
The Republican party better hope a coup doesn’t happen.
If it does it will be the end of that party. But maybe they would prefer that. If so -they need to be eliminated.
There is no Republican Party.

I truly believe Ted has been co-opted by the Globalists. I think he thought if he joined them he would get the nomination. I think Ted is still holding out hope that the rules will be changed in his favor.
I will be honest: I started for Cruz, quickly shifted, was a little surprised at his nastiness, but thought, “Ok, after a week he’ll get over it and endorse Trump.” But he really isn’t over it.
I don’t know if he as been totally cooped as you say, or is delusional and thinks he can still steal the election.

My sister said she turned on the radio in her car near the end of Thursday’s “Glenn Beck” radio show.
She told me that Beck said to his sidekicks “We’ve had contested conventions before!”
His sidekicks, Pat and Stu reportedly said, “Yeah, but not when the candidate had 1272 delegates!” (Trump actually has more than 300+ that number).
That idiot Brad Thor was also on the show. My sister said Thor plans to announce at the convention that he is a candidate for president! (Who is going to let him into the convention?)
I also told my sister, “Who the hell is going to vote for him? Most people never heard of Brad Thor!”
The way he has acted, I don’t see how anyone could back him again....
