Nigel Farage: Looks Like Remain Will Edge It

Nigel Farage has told Sky News it "looks like Remain will edge it" as votes are counted in the EU referendum.

The UKIP leader said it had been an "extraordinary" campaign and it looked like turnout had been "exceptionally high".

He also insisted UKIP were "going nowhere" and predicted the party would "continue to grow stronger in the future".

Although a long time campaigner for the UK to split from Brussels, Mr Farage is not the official leader of the Leave camp.

Yes, I agree. I’ve written here myself that the outcome was a harbinger of Trump’s success or failure.

But I can’t give up the fight or look back. We must show the world that the west is not lost. We have an opportunity to be a shining city on the hill one last time.

Bookies Place About 90% Chance on Brexit Rejection, Odds Show
Bloomberg · June 23, 2016 at 2:55 pm

(Bloomberg) — Bookmakers and gamblers strengthened again in their conviction that the U.K. will opt to remain in the European Union, as Britain began voting Thursday on whether to remain a member or split from the 28-nation bloc.

Paddy Power Betfair Plc, Ireland’s largest bookmaker, said Thursday that the odds on a “Remain” vote had shortened to a 1/12 chance, indicating a 92 percent probability. Yesterday, odds showed a 77 percent chance. That pattern was mirrored across gambling firms.

“Remain has been backed hard again this morning with the price coming in on the back of 4 million pounds traded,” said Naomi Totten of Betfair, in a note. “There was nearly 10 million pounds traded on the day of the Scottish referendum so the market will be worth watching closely as polling day continues.”

Analysts at firms like Danske Bank A/S and Investec Plc now routinely include gambling odds in client notes, with betting markets viewed as offering clues to the direction of political events.

Even more troubling is that millennials see themselves as citizens of the world and not Americans. They have no loyalty to the country or its people or its institutions. There only loyalty is to the next startup that might make them a buck.

A North American Union is something we will sadly see in our life time.
