Supreme Court blocks Obama immigration plan
Fox News.com ^ | June 23, 2016

The Supreme Court on Thursday blocked President Obama’s immigration executive actions, in a tie decision that delivers a win to states challenging his plan to give a deportation reprieve to millions of illegal immigrants.

The justices' one-sentence opinion on Thursday marks a major setback for the administration, effectively killing the plan for the duration of Obama's presidency.

The judgment could have significant political and legal consequences in a presidential election year highlighted by competing rhetoric over immigration. As the ruling was announced from the bench, pro-immigration activists filled the sidewalk in front of the court, some crying as the ruling became public. Critics of the policy touted the ruling as a strong statement against "executive abuses."

"The Constitution is clear: The president is not permitted to write laws—only Congress is. This is another major victory in our fight to restore the separation of powers," House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement, adding that the ruling rendered Obama's actions "null and void."

None of the justices are identified in the opinion. It says only per curiam, equally divided court.

Legal Latinos and Latinas are much more for Donald than people believe.

I know two rabid Latina Trump fans. One is a Trump delegate. The other is family.

Scary thing is we are so close to dying right now as a nation. Just one vote in 8 could have ended the United States in a fit of increasingly fast death.

Borders, Common Language, Common Culture. Without these you cease to be a nation.

We are likely past the point of no return anyway.

"...the pseudointellectuals who occupy the White House, the media, and much of Congress fancy themselves "intellectuals.""

Yet none of them could think their way out of a wet paper bag!

“Oh, yeah. The Constitution.”

Yeah, I’m just old enough to remember that tired old document too. But it was written by Dead White Males, so it goes into the ash heap of history.

As soon as Fox News announced he would address the US Supreme Court ruling I changed the channel.

He basically said they have made their ruling now let them enforce it.

“The pundits are opining that this will frighten Hispanic voters and give Hillary a boost. I never thought of that,…”

They’re hoping….and they are ignoring the fact the ruling will apply to Hillary as well.

Nope, what you see there is the entire public output of SCOTUS in concluding this case. There will be no written opinions on either side.

The Supreme Court had a mixed record. This ruling was a huge relief. The abortion ruling was a disappointment.
