WASHINGTON (AP) -- Newly released emails show State Department staffers wrestled in December 2010 over a serious technical problem with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's home email server. They temporarily disabled security features, which left the server more vulnerable to hackers. Weeks later, hackers attacked the server so seriously it was shut down.

AP update: This version updates with State Department clarifying that security features on the department’s computer system were disabled. An earlier version reported that the security features on Clinton’s home server were disabled.

Brilliant tech people. They can’t fix the security issues, so they disable them. Must be the same folks that set up the Obamacare site.

I tied a sock around the deadman lever on my lawnmower, but I doubt if it endangered national security.

I wonder if they changed the password to 'PASSWORD'.

Gergen has been an apologist for the Clintons for a very long time. He’s on CNN—that says it all.

Well, there are 100 script kiddies out there for every “serious blackhat”, and those script kiddies are often so stupid that they freeze up the machines that they are able to get access to by doing stupid things like setting up ftp servers or email servers on the machines and draining all the system resources.

Bottom line is that Clinton created this server so that her emails to Huma and the rest of her cronies could NOT be read by Republicans..she wanted to be sure that no one could see the corrupt crap she was pulling

I worked with a guy like that (looong time ago). He didn’t know what the .BAT files on his HD were, so he deleted them. Then he couldn’t figure out why his computer wouldn’t boot the next day.

“I wonder if they changed the password to ‘PASSWORD’.”

Worse, it has been reported that there was no password. In other words I could have hacked the server if I’d known it was there

"Hillary's IT people have no clue whatsoever when or how many times the server was breached, and the claim that the server was "shut down" because of attacks is either willful ignorance or a deliberate attempt to mislead."

or...it could all be a big misdirection??

I recall reading a post on here a couple weeks ago something to the effect that the real server that she used was cleaned and has disappeared.

the emails that she has turned over were from a separate server.

there was another IT guy that actually set it up & I think he sat up the DNC server, too.

it makes it look like Pagliano was more like a tech that worked for someone higher in IT.

let me see if I can dig that info up.

he's the guy they need to talk to.

Now, now, it could have been while they were doing the household chores and the dust cloth accidently wiped against the security feature, don’cha know.

Of course, the dumb bitch did it on purpose. She doesn’t do anything without it being a benefit to herself and our enemies. Obama’s lies don’t even come close to hers.

Ambassador Stevens died because of an “awful Internet video”? NO! He was murdered BECAUSE OF HILLARY’S ILLEGAL, PRIVATE UNSECURED SERVER!

i hate Hillary with a passion. To think the dumb bitch exposed every single American to danger because she just had to hide her corruption schemes.

Anyone else would already be on trial.

*********************************************

That’s pretty much on par with Hilly saying “ ..... it had numerous safeguards. It was on property guarded by the Secret Service. And there were no security breaches.

Willful ignorance or deliberate attempt to mislead? Deliberate attempt to mislead .... implying that because the SS were on the property, there were no security breaches. The low info idiots have/will go for that.

I wouldn’t be surprised if malware permeated the entire State Department communications system, and maybe that of the whole Federal Government.

Laz is of the opinion that this is all linked to that huge OPM data breach, IIRC. Makes sense to me, the damage is probably far worse than we can even guess at this point.

I agree; the whole idea was to let people hack the server. Hell, the IT guy who took the 5th probably told all of Clinton’s buyers how to hack the server and get the information they’d paid for.

The problem is that the stupid b**** didn’t realize the real intel pros in Russia and China were getting all of that and more for free.

Some indictments should be in order or we truly live in an era of decadence and deceit like few others in our past.

The other day there was a story about phrases in e-mail that flag additional scrutiny and quarantine at Goldman Sachs.
Here's one for the Inspector General - "Don't email xxx anything sensitive" !! (and then suggest offline communications to explain)
