Democrats stage sit-in on House floor to force gun vote

More than two dozen House Democrats staged a "sit-in" on the House floor Wednesday in protest of GOP leadership's refusal to allow a vote on a gun control measure following the Orlando massacre.

Led by Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), the civil rights icon, and more than 40 Democrats walked into the chamber just before noon and pledged to “occupy” the House floor until GOP leadership allowed a vote.

Democrats have tried numerous times over the past week to force a vote on a so-called "no fly, no buy" bill, which would bar terror suspects on the “no-fly" list from purchasing guns.

“We have been too quiet for too long,” Lewis said. “There comes a time when you have to say something. You have to make a little noise. You have to move your feet. This is the time.”

"How many more mothers? How many more fathers need to shed tears of grief before we do something?" Lewis continued, his voice rising in intensity. "Give us a vote. Let us vote. We came here to do our job. We came here to work.”

The white hut took mateen off any lists that he was on so this wouldn't have stopped him.

San Bernadino weapons were an illegal straw purchase.

Where is their fellow DemocRAT Bull Conner when you really need him?

Fire hoses and attack dogs until the sun goes down, and maybe until the sun comes up.

I have never been less proud of my great nation.

Arrest them for breach of oath. Send them to GTMO for slow processing. Let them hear their daily prayers. No toilet paper, of course, they can wipe their product the Arab way. Tagline.

It does appear that the Democrats are sending a clear message here. If you want ay representation in Congress, you first need to kill 50 people or so.

Give them a five-gallon pail and lock the door. We’re safer when Congress isn’t in session anyway and because there are Congressmen there, Present Zero can’t make any recess appointments.

“Should have arrested them”

Just called Ryan’s office. Unfortunately, can only leave message...which I did. He needs to use his authority...if he can arrest them, do so! If Capitol Police can haul their rear ends out to the sidewalk, do so! Ryan needs to get tougher. Enough! Also, suggested he pick a candidate....Clinton or Trump and should not be Clinton who let 4 good men die in Benghazi!

Why on Earth would the mean ol’ Republicans oppose such a common sense action? ‘Cause the day it passed, the RAT operatives in government departments will start adding all identified dissidents (that’s you and me, folks) to the list. Then when the martial law component of the regime’s plan kicks in, we’ll be less able to fight back.

This is a coup d’état. The Republicans, if they had any backbone, would take back the House chamber by force.

They just had a vote on it on the 20th. They supposed to vote on the same measure every day now ? They might try taking on fbi procedures for when they have terrorists on the radar and then let them slip through.
