He demanded heavy duty body armor used by law enforcement officers
When they said they didn't have that, he requested bulk ammunition
The store's owner said he reported the incident to the authorities in May
But the FBI did not visit the store or investigate further, says owner
Surveillance from that day has also since been erased
Mateen later bought an AR-15 and semi-automatic pistol from another store And he was 'seen on CCTV buying ammunition with his wife in June'

A gun store owner who reported Orlando shooter Omar Mateen to authorities weeks before the massacre has said the FBI did not investigate the store and that no copies of surveillance had been taken.
Robbie Abell, co-owner of Lotus Gunworks, told ABC news that while there was a follow-up conversation with agents, the FBI never visited the south Florida store after he alerted them and failed to investigate further.

Shocking Reason FBI Can’t Investigate Muslims

Not only were there several warnings directly made to the FBI about Omar Mateen but there was a recent warning from a gun store owner who rejected a sale of body armor and bulk ammunition to Mateen and who called the FBI.
Nothing happened.
The reason nothing happened is partly due to the lack of staff at the FBI – they need people – but another major reason is the rules of engagement they must follow and which were passed down by the White House. They can’t really investigate Muslims. Normal investigative practices are being denied when Muslims are involved.
When the Orlando attack took place, Obama went off on LGBT rights, hate crimes, gun violence, and ignored the cause. He won’t increase staffing at the FBI and he won’t give the FBI reasonable rules to follow so they can do their job. He’ll take guns from law-abiding citizens instead.
As Megyn Kelly corrected later in her show, the gun store owner did contact the FBI, not simply the police, and he did so several weeks before the horrific slaughter. Nothing happened other than one phone call back and whatever they did on their end.
Former FBI assistant director in charge and counter terrorism advisor to the Governor of New York following 9/11 Ed Kallstrom spoke with Kelly on her show last night.
Kallstrom said “get this wet blanket of political correctness off the backs of law enforcement, of the FBI.”
The rules of engagement does not allow the Bureau to do anything to do with Muslims. Orders from the White House prevents them from doing any work around Mosques or suspicious Muslims.

The FBI is too busy fooling around with its lists of people to actually do anything useful.
I bet the big shot Bureau kept the store owner’s report to themselves and never shared it with the Orlando locals. Obviously, the Bureau has admitted it can’t cover all the bases. But, their historical refusal to work cooperatively with state and locals will not change until someone takes charge and kicks ass. The locals should have been in on the earlier interviews and any other intel that the Bureau held on the troglodyte. Likely there was an in-store video recording of the killer’s visit, but the locals didn’t have a chance to do the leg work. The in-store video might have been used to do a match up with the Bureau’s mug shots of the killer from earlier interviews with a check of the local terrorist list. Then they would have had something. The stovepipe intel mentality among LE entities is a deadly serious issue that continues and until agents and LEOs start getting fired, it will continue. Everyone walks around with their chest out thinking they are the top dog and way too important and too proud to share information with their counterparts.
The FBI Has been turned into a branch of the Pro-Muslim white house. They have been compromised. Think they will really investigate Hillary (their boss to be)—Think again. BUT if Trump was caught Jay walking he would be fully investigated, conviced and sent to prison. The Ghost of J. Edgar Hoover must be jibbering and sobbing in the halls of the FBI. The branch of the Obama/Hillery service should be disbanded and replaced. Honor, no longer resides in the Nations capital.

I think so. Here’s how it likely went down:
Omar Mateen told his father Seddique, a long-time CIA asset and a guest at the White House on several occasions, that he was under investigation by the FBI. Then Seddique, using his political connections, lobbied the Obama White House to have the investigation dropped. So Omar was taken off the radar.
