The narcissism of preening in the mirror and believing that one’s “conscience” is superior to others, without regard to actual facts and outcomes.
FEEL better about one’s beliefs and don’t worry about consistency or rigor.
And yet, how often has “conservatism” vied for a piece of the same pie, just with a different spin on its rotating plate?
Both are dealing with approximations which, of themselves, must still fall before a perfect God.
The only liberalism worth a hoot is that which finds its liberty in God; the only conservatism worth a hoot is that which conserves the memory of God.
