FTA: Since 2013, Connecticut has prohibited the AR-15 and the Sig Saucer MCX and has since seen a decrease in violent crimes.

I find this assertion to be highly questionable. Anybody from MA care to check in on this?

Oh, and while I'm here...FUDM and the horse you rose in on, too!!

Which part do you find incredible, the ban, or the crime statistics?

According to the FBI stats, in 2013 Connecticut had 86 homicides (60 involving firearms). In 2014 Connecticut had 83 homicides (51 involving firearms). (Down 3.5%. But from 2013 to 2014 New Jersey homicides were down 16%, New York down 5.4% and Massachusetts down 3%.)

Homicides continue to fall pretty much everywhere. Semi automatic rifles are used in a tiny fraction of homicides, and so I doubt an assault weapon ban could possibly have anything to do with it.

I'm going shooting with my daughter tomorrow.
