According to the FBI stats, in 2013 Connecticut had 86 homicides (60 involving firearms). In 2014 Connecticut had 83 homicides (51 involving firearms). (Down 3.5%. But from 2013 to 2014 New Jersey homicides were down 16%, New York down 5.4% and Massachusetts down 3%.)

Homicides continue to fall pretty much everywhere. Semi automatic rifles are used in a tiny fraction of homicides, and so I doubt an assault weapon ban could possibly have anything to do with it.

I'm going shooting with my daughter tomorrow.

Another case of libs seeing what they want to see, i.e. confirmation bias and correlation does not mean causation. This also follows the pattern from some recent CDC data I’ve seen on firearm deaths where it’s obvious that your likelihood of being killed by a firearm is extremely small if you don’t hang out in the hood, involve yourself in crime or plan to commit suicide by firearm.
