Homicides continue to fall pretty much everywhere. Semi automatic rifles are used in a tiny fraction of homicides, and so I doubt an assault weapon ban could possibly have anything to do with it.

This also follows the pattern from some recent CDC data I’ve seen on firearm deaths where it’s obvious that your likelihood of being killed by a firearm is extremely small if you don’t hang out in the hood, involve yourself in crime or plan to commit suicide by firearm.
