[A]s soon as she got her diploma, she walked right out of the building.

Bravo Foxtrot Delta?
Looks like Pajama Boy’s sister.
Big Foxtrotting Deal.
I think the girl is an attention whore, and I probably wouldn’t like her at all, so I’ll give her no further attention.
How can something so unimportant be reported on as news?
I think it is very rude. Parents were complaining of kids/families doing the same thing at University of Alabama’s graduation. The parents whose kids had names at the end of the alphabet said it was almost empty.
Yes.
Yes they do.
Of course! :)
Didn’t even go to mine. At mine college graduation, you just get a form that welcomes you to the Alumni Association and tells you where you can donate to the various organizations.
So, I took the day off; slept in and spent the day with my roommates. We drank some beer, grilled some brats, and went to the lake and enjoyed a wonderful sunny day with friends. As I paid for my college 100% myself, my parent’s concerns were met with “I hope you have a wonderful time there; I have no intention of going”.
They said I would regret this decision. I’m closing in on 60yrs later, and having worked in as an engineer for over 25 years. Haven’t had a day of regretting that decision yet. Why sit in uncomoftable chairs, listening to someone you have never met before, tell you about what a wonderful job you have done, and how great you are going to be in the future.
Take the break, go enjoy time with your friends, enjoy the time off. You will look back at that time without regret. There are very few people I have met who even remember their graduation ceremony, let alone who even spoke at it.
I didn’t even attend my graduation. I finished the required courses in December of ‘77. They mailed me my diploma.

B-F-D.
Not a felony, but not a particularly nice thing to do. If she just wanted her diploma, without having to sit through a ceremony, I am certain the high school would have mailed hers to her.
Graduation ceremonies can be long and boring, but they also mean something to the people attending. The ‘Zowalskis’ of the world respectfully listen to every single name called. So should the Grays, out of courtsey.
I sold my graduation tickets, didn’t go at all and split for Florida on the next plane to be with my husband.
OMG, was she late for her date???
Well, if her family is still in the crowd taking a video of her, she obviously cannot be spending time with them.
Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me,me.
I also skipped my college graduation.
I was working at the time, I finished my degree taking night classes. I didn’t live on campus or have the whole college experience there. I really didn’t care about going to the graduation. I was a bit older than most grads. Parents weren’t going to be traveling out of town for the event. I decided not to bother.
I didn’t go to mine. All the speachifying and BS. Turns out during graduation is a much better time to have graduation dinner. Did go to a couple of the parties though.
I went to a University that pursued continuing education students. A very large portion of the students I was with were adults in the late 20s or 30s or even later pursuing engineering and other studies that might return a buck. Not one of us bothered with graduation. I’m glad I didn’t waste the time.
Most of the kids going to the ceremony are just going to flip burgers until automation catches up with them and then go onto welfare and soma. So for them it’s probably the high point of their entire lives. Soon they will be in the workforce and learn that no one gives a rat’s a$$ about their safe spaces. They’ll learn that if they don’t fill the bags with big macs fast enough it’s the bread line.
