Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the right to due process, guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution, had made it difficult to pass gun-control legislation denying those on the FBI’s terror watch list the ability to purchase a firearm.
“The firewall we have right now is due process,” the West Virginia senator said. “It’s all due process.
In the aftermath of the Orlando terror attack, which claimed the lives of 49 people, Democrats have renewed calls for legislation aimed at blocking individuals on the terror watch list from being able to buy a gun. Republicans have argued against such legislation, contending it would be wrong to strip citizens of their Second Amendment right without being convicted of a crime.
Manchin noted that the FBI “did everything they were supposed to do,” but had “no way” of blocking the Orlando attacker from purchasing a firearm. snip

No, idiot, it’s the refusal of those in power to acknowledge that Islam has been at war with everyone else on the planet since 622 A.D.

Due process is the bedrock of the labor movement and job security for members of our engorged bureaucracy. I wonder if any are making the connection.
Congress is what’s killing this nation. The vast majority should be hanged in public for the destruction they’ve caused.
We need term limits.. ONE and DONE and they should convene once or twice a year or during a time of war as needed.
Next is the Presidency.. a billion dollars + to get elected in itself is a crime.
Refusing to fight an international war has its consequences. Enemy attacks cannot all be stopped by way of good police work alone. Terrorists (assassins) are sneaky and suicidal. That’s what they do. Real warfare toward the goal of destroying the enemy’s will to fight in his own land is not an appealing way, but it’s the only way.
Manchin’s peers in both political parties agree with him in more ways than one.
