But just for a second imagine the hubris and conceit not to consider the idea of running for the second highest job in the US. Unbelievable that ‘our betters’ have better things to do than be Veep. Shows how wealthy and insulated they are.
“Shows how wealthy and insulated they are.”
That’s sums up all of America’s problems succinctly.
And Kasich personifies it.
As a general rule, I would have to agree with Newt, who when asked about being VP, said something to the effect that it is difficult to say no when one's country calls.
On the other hand, it was Franklin who said that the VP should be referred to as "your superfluous Excellency," and putting someone like Newt in that position would be a waste of his talents, though it would not be a waste of Kasich's talents (read into that what you will).
On the third hand, if Trump were to push for a genuine role for VP--as I used to suggest, back when "Trump/Cruz" was a reasonably possibility, that Trump push for Cruz actually exercising the VP's role as President of the Senate, to give greater weight to getting Trump's agendas passed--then a VP with something worth doing would be a worthy role for anyone worthy of the role.
