God allowed Hitler, Stalin and Mao. I don’t presume to understand why. If we get the leadership we deserve, we’re toast...

Well Obama was reelected by a majority of Americans.

This is not your Father's America.

This is why we must pray for mercy.

Perfect will versus permissive will.

Also God respects and loves people emough to let them make their own choices, and use whatever power they have the way they want, to a certain degree. Free will.

If God were to stop everyone all the time doing anything bad, we would be constantly be being stopped throughout the day. No one could stand to live in a sinful world with a sin nature constantly interrupted and corrected. Plus a lot less useful things would get done with constant divine interventions on 7+ billion people.

We would say what about that guy? And others would from their relative viewpoint point at you and what you are doing they dont like, and ask God to stop you.

Who would be able to see God as love and forgiving if God acted like this to us when He knows our sin nature at present makes it impossible for us to be perfectly good?

The fact God does not smite all of us is proof of a patient loving God.
