Supreme Court to act on gun ownership cases
CNN ^

Washington (CNN) — Days after the worst mass shooting in the United States, the Supreme Court is poised to act on two cases highlighting the raging debate over what types of guns and ammunition may be banned and who should have the right to possess firearms.

Justices will meet behind closed doors this week to determine whether or not to take up a constitutional challenge to a Connecticut ban of certain semi-automatic assault weapons and large capacity magazines.

The court is also poised to rule by the end of the month on the case of a Maine man who says that his prior misdemeanor under state law for domestic violence should not have caused him to lose his right to possess a firearm under federal law.

We need to pray and brace ourselves for harsh times.

Best be stocking up on ammo as I expect them to become increasingly more expensive as Bloomturd and his organizations run around the country trying to duplicate what they did in Seattle WA.

Ah, but that was the government doing the killing, under a Democrat administration, so there was no wrong doing.

Of course had that compound been in Iraq and that many people died under such circumstances the troops involved and their commanders might have faced war crimes charges....

“Private citizens could own cannons in the colonial days. Needed them to protect ships from piracy.”

Absolutely correct. Col. Moultrie, commander of South Carolina’s 1st and 2nd regiments, loaned his cannons to the battalions to defend Charleston Harbor against the British warships in 1776. They dug into Sullivan’s Island in the harbor and blasted the hell out of the British fleet. The result was one of America’s most decisive victories early in our war for independence. I knew one who owned a naval cannon, when I lived in NM. I bet it is still possible today. He shot his every 4th of July. He had a special carriage made for it, it was too heavy to be transported on an asphalt road with it’s iron rimmed wooden spoked wheels. Amazing conversation piece.

He was the local coroner. Really friendly guy.

I guess, according to your definition, Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944 was a “mass shooting.”

I really don't recall any women and children at Normandy Beach.

The truth is the us government was no better than the "savages" when it came to brutality.

IIRC You can still own a Cannon AS long as it is a Muzzle loaded, not Breech loaded

Correct Gentlemen ?

A larger massacre than Wounded Knee was committed in 1813 by Alabama Creek Indians against whites and westernized Creeks:

500 people killed.

Saying that Wounded Knee was the largest does not make it so.

When I was able, and good looking....hehehe....I was a reenactor of the War for Southern Independence. Cannon ownership is legal. As far as breech loaded, I will find out.

PM me your address...I have a 2XX “fat bastard”, MIS tee shirt to send ya!

May want to look at the 1863 Bear Creek Massacre, the numbers of Shoshones killed may have been as high as 350.

Since they have taken over law-making with the concurrence of Republican Party leadership, I guess the USSC presumes they are not bound by “Congress shall pass no law ...”
