ORLANDO - The gunman responsible for the deaths of 49 people inside a gay nightclub in Orlando pledged loyalty to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in his last moments, and the Mideast terrorist group quickly and happily took the credit.
However, if the statements of several patrons of Orlando's gay scene are proven true, ISIS would probably prefer to take Omar Mateen and throw him off a tower.
A U.S. official with knowledge of the situation tells CBS News that club-goers have told investigators that Mateen had been at Pulse numerous previously. Additionally, other media outlets have heard several stories of Mateen popping up and conversing with men on gay dating apps.
While it is still possible Mateen was just very closely surveying his chosen target for terror, former senior FBI profiler Mary Ellen O'Toole told CBS News that doesn't seem likely.

That does seem to be where the evidence is pointing.
Is CBS saying that all homosexuals are potential mass murderers?
Bigots.
I don’t believe a word of that. His wife and all of his other Muslim friends are attempting to deflect the blame from ISIS ideology as quickly as liberals are.
He was casing the joint, pure and simple, looking for weaknesses. Also, if he was a regular as has been suggested, security may have waved him through without checking him well.
“Theyre really twisting themselved in knots. LOL!”
They really are and it is disgusting and pathetic!!!
Islam's purification rite. Taking a blood bath.
Will our government and media (one in the same today) go to any lengths to protect ISIS? Apparently so. Though this monster claims he did it for ISIS, ISIS can’t possibly embrace his noble act for them now because he was gay himself. Absolutely disgusting.
It’s the sharia way!
I guess he took those trips to the Middle East to go to all the homosexual bars there.
Keep spinning Democrats.
For ‘sexual confusion’ read, “He was an angry and unresolved homosexual.”
He didn’t kill the victims because they were gay. He killed them because they were too old.
Produce former gay lovers with images of them out in public or it did not happen.
I can’t recall a mass shooter calling 9-1-1 to express his solidarity/support for the NRA.
Agree.
It seems to not only work for their leftist narrative that everyone is closeted gay and that this was the motivation not Jihad but also it discredits the attacker in the eyes of his Islamic brothers.
Don't get me wrong, they want their pets to do violent things, they just want to be able to control when, where and the narrative. It seems they go rogue more often than not.
In a stupefyingly backhanded way, CBS has just told the gay community the truth, that Muslims WANT TO THROW YOU OFF A TOWER.
He hysterically laughed while killing over a dozen gays hiding in a bathroom stall. He hated gays.
Isis is gay, so what?
“As if Muslims in general (and their terrorists in particular) aren’t sexually confused!”
They sure are confused, they kill homosexuals, but raping little boys is okay, like one animal I was reading about in Germany that he raped a little boy while in the swimming pool, “Said he couldn’t help himself. Or the U.S. Army wanting to destroy a U.S. soldier in Afghanistan who beat the hell out of an Afghan soldier who would rape a small boy each night and the US soldier couldn’t take it anymore hearing the boy screams and took action to protect the child and the Army was going to drum him out of the service, because that is their culture and we shouldn’t interfer. I wanted to throw up. The ruling has since changed since there was such an uproar in favor of the US soldier.
We attend a church with a very small congregation and taqiya has been on my mind as a Somali named Mohammed recently started attending. He seems different from other Muslims I have seen: happy with a light in his eyes that others do not have. Yet-I’m nervous about possibilities. My husband thinks I’m absolutely insane and paranoid.
As a believer who wants all to come to faith in Christ I know we can’t shut out anyone, yet what if it’s all an act and the families there end up enduring a tragedy?
I’m confused, he was on the terrorist watch list because he was Gay?
