Your Archdiocese takes a percentage of the funds that are donated to the parish. That is not voluntary.

Do you have a Cardinal's Appeal? Each parish is assessed a given amount. If they do not collect it, it is taken from the offertory donations.

The hierarchy has no accountability to the parishioners regarding how they spend their money.

No, my point was simply you can attend Church and not contribute a dime.

That is true only in some dioceses. It’s called a “cathedraticum.”

It does not exist in my diocese.

If you live in a diocese that has it, you can satisfy your obligation to support the Church by giving to good charities.
